Need info on brake hoses. Large Ford car calipers.

Did a cursory search and could not find the links to information I thought I'd seen here in the past.
Those of you who've converted over to the larger Ford caliper, what hoses did you use? The hoses that are correct for the car applications all seem to thread straight into the caliper hole. It looks like it should work, but I haven't fitted them up yet and was wondering what others had found.
If these work fine for a Bronco, great. But if you've found a better way, even better.

The old block-and-bolt type, from the truck applications, seem to line up and work perfectly on the EB's, so I was wondering what, if any, problems there were with the straight type.

Thanks

Paul

I bought the correct hoses and banjo bolts from BC Broncos. I never had the stock car hoses, but the great brake guru Lars Peterson told me they would not work anyway as the threaded fittings somehow interfered with something on the Bronco. He explained it in detail, but that was many years ago and I have forgotten.

Now that you mention it, I seem to remember something like that too. I'll check out BC's site and give 'em a look.
The hose probably hits the inside of the wheel unless you can keep it bent more than it would like. I wonder how they cleared the car wheels with all that offset they usually had?

Thanks

Hey, Paul-

The problem with the straight hose is that it interferes with the knuckle. The port in the big caliper is threaded 7/16-24, unlike the OEM Bronco caliper, which is 3/8-24. BC Broncos used to carry a hose with the correct banjo fitting that was otherwise the same length and with the correct 3/16" inverted flare fitting on the other end. They also had the correct banjo bolt. I assume they still sell that stuff. There's a tab adjacent to the port on the big caliper that you need to grind/file so it doesn't interfere with the banjo fitting. Otherwise it's a bolt-on, and the caliper uses the same pad.
