A pair offlowmaster 40s dumped out the back corners. Don't get me wrong, when you get on it, they open up. My wife and I were talking to the kids at 65mph and really the tires were as loud as the exhaust...

Do you know what the c4 problem was?

Unfortunately... No. Speculation is that it likely had some gunk/junk in it that had something stuck. I got it out on the road gagged on the throttle and it started shifting. I did have about 1/2 qt or so too much fluid... When I drained some, the fluid looked good.

I guess we will see how she does this week.

I wish my c4 woes would disappear like that! Look forward to seeing it this coming weekend. Your motor build has given me some ideas for my blue 74 street rig. I will have to pick your brain.

Put a tank of 93 in her and drove the wheels off her for a couple of hours... She likes WOT! Trans is shifting good, engine has a lot of power. Put another 75 miles on her- no top, kiddies in the back seat- a great day for cruising.

The exhaust, although louder than I really wanted, is not offensive when driving. Ran right at 190-195 degrees and when sitting at line in the drive thru it only got up to 200. 25psi oil pressure at idle when warm, 50psi when in gear running down the road.

It's nice to have it running again and I love to open the hood to show people the work.

Congratulations on getting the bugs worked out!

You have every right to be proud of that engine and show it off, you should keep doing it every chance you get!!!

Pick away brother... I have asked so many questions of others on here- I need to pay it forward!

Thanks- the feeling of accomplishment is awesome...it has me wanting to tackle another big project- maybe a full frame off... Of course I would want to do a Luber which means another EB... And I am not sure the wife would approve!

Cruising around with your family, how it sounds at cruising speed, how it sounds when you get on it, how the tires hummmmm going down the road, are all lies until we see video!!!!!!! Yes, we love pics. Pics are awesome. But video, with sound, of a brand new 347 going down the road....... Sorry, I think I just had an organism......

Did you use the bc broncos tank? If so what did you do for lines and filter?

I am currently running the stock tank and dual external pumps. Since I will change over to an EFI 23 gallon tank later this year, I used EFI rated 3/8" rubber rubber hose to the pump and to the motor. I made some black stainless fuel line to the motor from the frame rail. I used an off the shelf WIX fuel filter with 3/8" barbs.

What base timing did you set yours too. I have read a lot today regarding 347s and a lot of guys run them 12-14 degrees BTDC and get better response.

I have to find a place to get it tuned on a dyno. I thought about ordering a tuner, but I'm not sure I want to get that involved.

Just Wondering

First does the 347 keep the same exterior dimensions as the stock 302? Or do the heads make it more like the 351W? I have a 351W I did and it made my hydroboost, ps pump, alternator and hood clearance challenging.

Second, do you think the MSD Atomic Fuel Injection would have worked for your 347? Just wondering since I think my next build I am looking that way. 347 with the MSD Atomic. I know its a lot of money like 2K but every post I read from you it looks cheaper and cheaper.

New 347 Build... A good day to cruise!

The base idle will still be around 10 after the tune. Advancing it causes surging issues. The tune can add more total timing to make more power.

Exact same dimensions... Except I used tall valve covers to cover the stud mounted rockers. This also required the 1" intake spacer. I have a 3" body lift, but clearance to hydroboost, etc was good. You can get similar heads with pedestal mounts and use standard EFI valve covers to contain that issue.

I don't know the Atomic unit personally, but have read good things about it.

I will work on getting it tuned next week- off to Super Cel tomorrow AM. I know it's supposed to be 10 degrees, but I also know it's a little rich until it gets tuned. It was recommended to bump timing to 12-14 to get more complete burn. Did that today- no idle issues, but I can't really tell a difference. I am bringing a timing light with me this weekend and will jack with it if I have any issues.

Ready to head south...

The truck is running great and still no video! Been too busy driving the wheels off it this weekend! Can't keep my foot out of the throttle, but the Lokar throttle cable works great!

It's raining at the show today, but there's no place I would rather be!
