I have no idea about this. How can you tell how secure it is? Also how secure should it be?

most current alarms are tierred (sp?) systems that work off of having more that one frequency to be keyed. this way I cant--ahem---criminals cant use a scanner to pop your locks and gain access. this is very important in home garage doors also.

If you're hooking them to a modern alarm system no big deal. If your using them alone I can trip the locks and gain access way to easily. Just be careful. I'd hate to lose my bronco to a novice. I still like the locks though. Just have the right "tripper".

Now let me get this right. They're still safe..... but some jerk, if he wanted to, could unlock them semi-easily with some kind of electric device? I think what I'm asking is "Are they just as safe or safer than what I have now?"

That question is somewhat subjective, like what is safe?

They are a coveinance and are not safe. An alarm would be a deterence. Electric door locks are easy and bronco doors are easy anyhow....alarms, lowjack and dogs are deterences.
