These were Utility Vehicles. They didn't need no stinkin' reverse lights!
Well, I guess they did after all, since that got changed in either late '66 or for the '67 model year.

You might find a set here in the classifieds, from those that have retrofitted the later model with the backup lights, or you can get them from any of the vendors.

http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/category/Bronco_TailLights

It's a cool look, but I have always had good luck with the stock backup lights (updated with 50w halogens of course!) so have just kept it that way.

Were the pics taken before, or after the chrome paint? Looks like silver, but I don't see much shine to it. The "aluminum" paint actually looked pretty shiny, but couldn't hold a candle to the white when it came to the end results out of the lens.

Have you thought too, about modifying, or making your own reflector setup to go behind a stock lens? I have thought about putting an off-the-shelf oval light under the stock lens. And I think someone here did that and posted pics too. I can't remember for sure, but I think it came out really nice.
Keep the pics coming.

I know it came out silverish not chrome, and yes it was on already. I might replace the multi led bulb with another rear facing 7w spot 1156 white LED. gotta go fetch some one pole (1156) sockets to replace the 1157's (dual pole) I added.

as of now it looks good, I am looking for a little more, I will see if I can do some work on it tonight and take pics.

It is a little hard to touch the EB right now, work, wife pressuring me to get rid on my belly (gym) and my 13 year old son demanding I play Borderlands 2 on the PC with him!
no complaints, i am pretty happy the EB runs and I was able to clean the yard pretty well

thinking about this a little more, I really like the way the red LED (7w) behind the reverse white lens looked. it was super obvious during daylight (fear of idiots running into my rear bumper).

for reverse I do have the old ram charger HID reverse lamp, i will just have to figure out where to mount it out of harms way or build a metal protection for it, if I do mount it under the bumper.

I am thinking that once I fab the rear spare mount arm, I can mount it there. I do not plan to run have it turn on automatically (trans sw) but manually, since I use it when camping to light up the rear area and trailer, so the higher the better.

long time, no posting, found out I had type 2 diabetes and have spent the last 7 months fighting to get back in shape, so fat 48 lbs lost and no pills, sugar, cholesterol and pressure under control. I have spent the last 8 days working to get the Bronco ready to drive and see the Baja 1000, I wil post some pics of the newest progress ASAP. gages, tire carrier, fog lights, high lift jack, reverse light, all LED markers and turning/stop lights..... good to be back, drove it last night and it is a beast!!!! my 14 year old son was screaming when we raced up a hill!!!

put in 2 hours into rear seats, a lot of work to fit in the second pair of captain chairs, I climbed in with my 14 year old son and we comfortably fit with room behind the seats for a large cooler. if the future I am planning a full length roof rack, this will serve to take the light camping stuff, mount 4 9" lights/led side and rear lights, and stiffen up the roof!

tonite I plan to continue with the seat install, it's getting cold and not with daylight savings I get home in the dark! I might start getting up and working on it for an hour in the am! I am definitely hooked and making progress! had to stop the MTBK rides and Gym, I get enough activity working on the EB!

I have the same in mine (in the front). I'd love to see pics of a matching set in the rear. Did you create a mount for them or did the sliders bolt right to the floor?

because they are captain seats, I completely remove the motors, switchs and sliders. used one 3/4" dia bolt to connect the centers (where the belt releases are) and welded the fronts together.

I just bought some tabs and a 1x1 metal tube to add the bolting ability.

how did you activate the seat belt solenoids? I am thinking of a relay and switch, turn on to strap in and off to lock the belt in place. stock they came with a control unit, too much for me!

I dont think I have any solenoids on mine. The PO installed them and they work like any other seatbelt I've ever used. There's no power running to the passenger seat. The driver seat has power but thats only to adjust the seat.

Where'd you find your seats by the way - now you've got my thinking how great it would be to have a matching set in the back.

re routed exhaust outlets to clear fender flares and added rubber isolated hangers for middle of exhaust while removing chain hangers. I need to drive it to look for rattles. I might put some temporary wood pieces to reduce roof noise. the finished fix will be the roof rack, I will secure the roof to the rack's cross braces. rack work to star in a month or after xmas, money permitting.
I really wish i had it now to fit all the camping gear for the Baja 1000!
Ideally I will have it on for the Baja 500 in june 2014.

wow, third test drive, new tie rod and a lot of bolting down of sheet metal and top. also the rubber exhaust supports. 80% of rattles gone and 99% of fumes gone also, thanks to running exhaust out behind rear tires.

I need to adjust the TV cable on the AOD, it has super solid shifts, but shifts a little early, the other option will be to run on 3rd on the street and OD on the freeway! the down shifting is solid also. shirped tires going from od to 2nd floored.

I am getting used to the handling, brakes and overall feel of the EB, I really like this!!!!
