While the outside of my Bronco is ok, and I don't have the money to spend on having another paint job, I want to turn my attention to the dash. It looks terrible, and really bothers me. (My wife also) it's funny when I show her pictures of EB's that are for sale she always ask "does their dash look better than yours" I guess it's the I can see it thing. Anyway, it's chip etc. How hard would it be for a noob to remove the dash? I want to strip it and paint it. Thanks

It's easy, but a little time consuming.

To get the dash out, you need to remove your top, if you have it on, lower the windshield frame, remove all the little screws holding the dash at the top. You will also have to remove a couple of bolts on the bottom bracket and almost at the top on each side. Then remove the lower bolts for the steering column and steering wheel.

If you have a roll cage you might have to remove it to get the dash clear.

Then remove all the gauges and other dash related items with the dash lose. It is easier that way.

Take your time and take pictures to remember where everthing goes. It's just time consuming.

Have fun.

I'm a noob and got it pulled easily with the help of a friends extra set of hands. It's more time consuming getting everything disconnected. My biggest issues were stuck bolts in the windshield and getting the dash over the steering column
