Lipstick 1976, Margaux Hemingway and Mariel Hemingway Driving a Bronco
Heck yeah Jim, I was thinkin the same thingIf it was the newer version of Charlies Angels...That one they jumped was for sale a few years ago on Ebay. There were actually 2 blue Broncos made to look alike. The one on Ebay..was for driving scenes and ran. /QUOTE]
My brother in law bought it. It was also in "50 First Dates".
My brother in law is a Ford guy and has gone through MANY vehicles in the fifteen years I have known him, including about 5 EB's and another half dozen other cool Fords. He is an Ebay junkie and bought it for a song some 7am on a Tuesday. The driver seat bottom, and the sheet metal below the seat, had been hacked out to get the proper camera angle and several camera mounts had been added to the roll bar, including some really dumb tube placement; all very primative. In "Charlies Angels", you can see Bill Murray sitting on a Mexican blanket over the driver seat, and it was still in the vehicle when he got it. The exterior was doused in a dulling agent.
The glove box was something that I tore into myself that first day we drove it around town. The truck was (presumably) registered to a girl in SoCal before the film company bought it. There were reciepts for alternators and brake work and that kind of thing jammed in there, in her name, going back to the early 90's, IIRC. There was also the movie studio manifest for the boat ride (with other vehicles listed as well) to Hawaii for the filming of "50 First Dates" (the truck can be seen easily in a few scenes). He did a cursury clean up of the truck, fixed some sheet metal, trimmed the cage, tuned it and drove it a bit for about a year from time to time. It had obviously never been run hard, as it drove really well on the street, even if it had been sky'd in the movies.
He sold it to a guy in New York who had engine trouble within six months of taking ownership. I think he was using it for a daily driver into the city.
