Great effort folks. Sorry to hear about the carnage.

On a brighter note---you guys did get to avoid the massive snow dumpings and bread and milk runs at your local stores....

Sorry to hear about the tranny!! That’s a real heartbreak. I was cheering for you while watching the race via internet at work!!! Wish I could have been there!!

Does anyone know if the auto shop teacher that was running his class project finished?

Lou, I am so proud of you and all the MEB crew there with you! What a great effort, and I know you'll be back next year. There's a great bunch of guys and gals there and I know you couldn't have done it without them. Thanks to Ransil and others for all the updates, especially since some of us couldn't access the "livecast". Now get home, get the buggy fixed, and hit the trails back east!

Drew and Dave - Have a safe trip back across the great US of A, and hopefully you can get the rig back into your driveway when you get home.

You have missed out on all the insanity caused by the record snowfall here in VA/PA/MD the past 10 days. You were definitely having more fun then we were;D

The trip home has begun. Drew and Dave are on the road. My group left the lake bed about 4 pm. We all fly out tomorrow morning. This has been an amazing week. I can see why they call it Hammer town. It's the size of a small city! I took a few pictures and will upload later. We had planned on doing update during the race but our air card die when we set up in the BFG remote pit.

I can confirm that Drew and Dave made it safely outa California! When I left em it looked like they were fixin to flip a coin to see who was driving the midnight shift.;D . After a dinner stop here in Havasu they are officially "East bound and down, loaded up and and truckin" on I-40. I took the opportunity for a photo op with the HavaBronco next to the Kof H rigs. I hope Lou wants to try again next year, after talking to Drew and Dave I'm ready to help out next year.
Chuck

You guys have a smooth trip home!

Roasted tranny, dang that stinks! Everything else looked like it was working exceptionally well, including the driving skills!

Drew said last night that the tranny was not even running hot. Everything was working perfect including the driver and co-driver....Something just broke in the tranny. Guess we won't know what until Lou does an autopsy...
Lou can hold his head high as he proved he is a driver and contender. Now he just needs a big $$ sponsor to even the playing field!

Just got a shirt order from Marc Martin! Thanks Marc!
Now for Mark Martin to win the 500 today! ;D

He's not my #1 driver but I sure would like the old man to win it finally!

Let's think..... James Duff, BroncoGraveyard, BroncoDriver magazine, SummitRacing, Jegs, just to name a few. Sounds like "big name" sponcers for next years KOH, all from the Eastcoas!, Guess it's time for us to start bendin some ears! I've seen more than one episode of OVERHAULIN were Summit put up a new tranny, crate engine, etc. I would imagine if enough word gets around throughout the year that we have one of the best KOH Bronco drivers on this side of the coast, those guys may want their hands in on it.

Just got back from CA - from beautiful weather to 2 feet of snow! I was able to help out at Check Point 3 with Brian and Steve Stewart. Lou went through this check point twice and was doing good both times. We were at mile 30. First time past he needed a new antenna but was otherwise going great. Here are a few pics.

All I can say is WOW! The group of friends that came to support our team were AWESOME! I had tons odf compliments from other racers and people stpping by and saying "your pit crew is awesome/great/work great together/were killer/etc"

The crew of guys on site:
Drew Peroni- master planner/rig hauler/help/sponsor OBR w/ N.hopman,B Keeler
Dave Erichsen- general wrench/hauler driver/heckler extrordinaire
Chris Jones- communications/general wrench/heckler
Brian Stewart-sponsor/gen wrench/not quite heckler, but f"ing with U a lot
Steve Stewart- Drove the RV like a MADMAN/gen wrench/ quality 1 liner style heckler
Jason Green- jeep guy /codawg/laid back laughs a lot
AtoZ fab guys- Larry and Zach- there to help when needed
Randy/Pam Silbaugh-helped everywhere they could and laughed @ all of us. Crew funds maximizer/financial stretcher is where he shines
Gary Gibson- came in and helped 4 the day in the pits
Bill Moore- sponsor/resident "hot chic" of the team hung around 2 days with a big smile taking it all in.

These are quick ramblings before I start to "dig out" and go back to the plow.
Our crew did great. Worked every night on the truck finding all the little things before they were a problem. I was the biggest "weiner" on the team. This crew worked/played together better than anything I have ever seen in my years of racing/crawling. I "OWE" a lot of people more than I can ever really repay. This race seemed like a dream when we were planning. The whole crew seemed every bit as excited as we were, to be doing what we do.

Simple fact. The car is in the best mechanical shape it has ever been in. We had 40+ trouble free miles(broken antenna/manufacturer defect) of the "baddest ass race in the states". The truck lost all forward gears on a 2-3 shift in the desert. We drove backwards for another 2.5 miles till we caught fire and decided to call it. It was my best racing experience EVER, bar none.
I wont be back on the boards for a while. I have a lot of work to do. The Crew will start to fill in as they get back into the swing of things.

THANK YOU to all who help get us there. Every donation made a difference and we spent all of it on racing efforts.

BTW: if you live in the MEB/ www.earlybroncos.com ) area and are not a member. You are missing the absolute best group of people I have ever been involved with! An awesome brotherhood and resource!
