I am having my motor rebuilt. It is a 351 from a '95 F-250. One of the sources of oil leak was the dip-stick port in the side of the pan. My block has provisions for the dipstick so I am reusing that. Now I need a pan that looks the same, but without the dipstick port. Any ideas? Here's my original pan. I guess this is considered dual sump?? I only have single oil pickup pump, so that begs the question: what is the advantage of a pan like this?
There is the option of cutting out that port and patching with steel, but if that welding isn't done right, the leak returns.
Thanks!
