This may have come up before, but searching the forum has not produced a previous thread. If anyone could provide the paint code/s for the standard parchment interior (1974 for my rig), dash and metal door panels, I would be grateful.

Being a novice 5 yrs ago when I started my project, I painted the interior dash and door panels wimbledon white. Live and learn since it looked really off when i reattached the arm rests to the panels. Thx.

The only place I found that could mix light parchment acrylic lacquer is this place http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1970-Fordtruck-pg01.jpg It is a lacquer and the paint code above is satin finish with a flattening additive which achieves the satin finish with no glare, just type in 22780 in the acrylic search box.I know it shows to be a 1970 but the color was the same until Ford started painting the dash the same color as the outside finish. That company is in San Diego by the way.

Thanks Sky. So use the acrylic lacquer option and 22780 paint code to get the desired and correct parchment interior paint for early broncos? Funny how your number is one digit off from the one Slowleak provided.

Oooh..... glad you caught that. I had a typo. 22780 is correct! I will edit my post. Thanks!

No worries, I got it wrong once already using wimbledon white, I certainly don't want to make another mistake this go around. Sure would be nice if we had one of those paint suppliers Sky referenced here in the deep south.

Old thread but anyone have anything to add? The link above is not working and my paint store can’t reference the ditzler or Ford codes. I can have them scan an original parchment piece I have but I would have to experiment with a flattening agent to get the satin finish.

i am also looking for parchment paint for my 67 bronco to paint the door inserts and the dash

unfortunately here in Canada nobody can mix this paint for me.

i am looking at getting the spray bomb from either colorbond or Scott drake

1. just to make sure the right parchment for our early broncos is indeed the "light parchment" correct?

2. would i be better off with the colorbond or scott drake or are they both the same?

thank you

Scott Drake L-4595 is Light Parchment and is the correct shade and finish. It is made for the metal interior parts on Fords. The ColorBond product is made for leather, vinyl, and plastic, such as seat covers, armrests, and seat back panels. I’m not sure how well it matches the dash.

I would go with Scott Drake.

I have painted dashes and door panels with rattle cans, but not with that product.

If you are doing two coats I would get three cans. That should leave some for touchup, or screw up, if you need it.

Post the results when you finish! It looks like a good match...

back at it with the parchment colour. any chance my 67 dash and door inserts would have been painted pebble beige instead of parchment or was that not an option? i sprayed a few test pieces of the scott drake light parchment L-4595 and it is really light in colour compared to the OE dash colour.

thanks
