I've decided to convert my 3-speed floor shift tranny to an AX15. The body is off of the frame so now is probably the easiest time to make the switch. I plan on buying the conversion kit from WH but wanted to save money and buy the transmission elsewhere. Is there a particular Jeep AX15 that I should be looking for. I've found some refurb and new on Ebay and would like to know if these would work.

Any help from the seasoned gurus would be appreciated.

I decided to listen to some of the forum veterans, and I went with a Tom's Offroad AX15 kit. It included a new AX15, a clutch, a rebuilt transfer case with heavy-duty gears, and all the Advanced Adapters parts for a turnkey solution.

That looks nice.
Looking forward to a driving report. I'm guessing that won't happen this weekend...
