Pess is like $150 harbor frieght and once you have one you have one forever.

On sale now (till end of the month I think) with super coupon $149 or $159 and WELL WORTH THE PRICE.......I did my 9 and D44 last summer. You will find all kinds of uses for the press once you get it.....I sure did....

Nice looking Ranger package. Looks like there might have been a PTO winch on the front at one time too. Bumper looks just like the one that came on mine. Dealer installed option. Pretty hefty price tag for back in the day too.

Well I got to work a few hours this evening and got all the accessories off the engine. I'm hopeful to pull it and the tranny tomorrow. Couple questions:
1. What's the best way to pull the pitman arm? Bfh? Which end is easier to get off first?
2. Any advice on pulling the tranny and engine all at once? What's the best point to attach the chain to hoist it?

Here us a parting pic I took tonight

Dang you got the grill off that easy? First time removal for mine took TIME as the bolts you can't get to were rusted bigtime. Good gooding......

The best way to remove the pitman arm is with a pitman arm puller and an impact gun. Not being a smart A$$ it makes quick easy damage free work of removing it. Removed the drag link first then the pitman arm from the box output shaft.

Some progress today. Got the two rust spots in the passenger floorboard cut out and got one piece welded in. Also had to buy a new pitman arm puller as mine stripped the threads when I put the impact on it. New puller yanked the pitman right off.

I think I just need to take off the fuel tanks and then I can lift the body off. I plan on having a mobile media blaster come and blast everything. I lucked out and found a set if headman headers off a 73 bronco for $40! Just a little surface rust that ill get blasted.

Anybody sprayed their frames and underside tub with POR 15, or can you just brush it on? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1372537217.480296.jpg

I've got a lot of work done in the past week and half. Got the engine and tranny pulled. The engine was in pretty bad shape I've never seen so much sludge in an oil pan before. I dropped the tranny off at aamco Monday for a complete rebuild hopefully have it back today.

Painted the frame with por15 and I am extremely impressed. It has the look and feel of powdercoat. 5 days later and I still have quite a bit on me that seeped through my paints. The wife keeps calling me a Holstein!

Made a call to WH on Monday and dropped more money in 1 phone call than I paid for my first truck when I was 16, but I think I'm just as excited to get that shipment! 9 boxes and 352 lbs worth!

I decided to clean and sand the inner wheel wells and engine bay for paint. After about 6 hours of sanding and primering I got to shoot the color last night. Grabber Blue!!!! It's always been my favorite color on old mustang Mach 1's. My mom had a '71 that they sold way before my time but I always thought it was cool that my mom had such a cool car.

I'm still debating on what I should do about rebuilding my rear end. I'm thinking I might let someone rebuild it for me but I'm not sure what the going rate would be to install new gears and bearing kit.

It's even a couple weeks since I updated but I've stayed busy on it. I got my gearbox rebuilt by west Texas, got my tranny and rear differential rebuilt here locally. Went with 4.11's.

This past week I installed my new gas tank, fuel line, new stainless brake lines, 5.5 lift, drop radius arms, drop track bar bracket(what a pain to get the old oval bushing out finally decided to burn it out). Also bought all new rear brakes as the old ones were beyond shot.

I also bought an unfinished wood steering wheel off eBay that I stained and poly'ed. My wife really likes it which is all that matters at this point! She now calls the bronco my girlfriend. I said girlfriends don't require this much money or attention!

Yesterday my dad and I, carefully I might add!, put the body back on the frame. Once back on I really noticed how high the rear was compared to the front. I have another thread for trying to figure that out!

Next I'm going to weld over all the small fender flare holes, and the front gas opening. I then plan on hitting it hard this coming week with body work, and wiring up the engine.

I have a picture of a NAPA Modulator that was on it. What exactly is this and should I keep it or replace it?

Here's the modulator. Need some help to know what it is and if I should replace it. Is it an ignition module? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375451846.925042.jpg

Looks like the ignition mudule early duraspark ignition. If the gel in the back is still firm and not gettin gsticky and starting to melt it may still be good. They are cheap, get you a nice clean new one for your new Bronco. Keep that one as a spare.
