What kind of sorcery is that steering rack?

This makes me laugh - I have no idea - as we got in there and started figuring out what we had to work with I just realized it would be easier to start over. The prior owner was a retired guy who built drag racing cars and was building this on the side. My son calls it the "mustonco" because he's convinced he was building this like a mustang.
