Is there a diff carrier break in Ford 9” ?

No. The Ford 9" doesn't have any carrier breaks due to the design, so all gear ratios should work on all carriers from 2.xx to 6.xx.

Y’all rock. Thanks so much.

The D44 is a high pinion out of a F150 (‘79 or ‘80).

That makes the overall design function stronger, due to driving on the drive side, and coasting on the coast side (as opposed to a regular low-pinion Dana setup), but should not change the fact that the pinion gear is still smaller/weaker as the gear ratios get lower.

Not sure if the pinion gear is beefed up on a high-pinion, or just the same. I've never heard either way.
