Hey folks, we are in the process of designing a roll cage. I am looking for feedback on what you have learned from cages you bought or built. What do you wish was different?
My priorities are:
1. Increase safety in an accident (on and off road)
2. Provide shoulder belt mounting points for front and rear seating positions
In reference to priority #1, motor vehicle accidents: “In the western world, the most common cause of death after trauma is severe brain injury. The incidence of death from head injury is approximately 7 per 100,000 [14], and the severely brain-injured also have the highest mean length of stay and mean hospital costs…” therefore we are placing the tubes as far away from the passenger’s heads as possible and they will be padded with proper SFI padding.
Thanks, Tony
