Salvage Yard Side Mirrors. What Have You found?
I have been using some nice Jaguar Mirrors I found Late 80's I think? I liked them for the most part. Kinda cool that they are powered so I mounted the controller knob on the door and wired them up. Anyhow I was going to use them again after my build but one ended up broken while the build was happening. So I thought I'd see if anyone had some other ideas before I go looking for myself. So what have you found?

Some guys have made a modern FJ mirror work.

Some have used TJ mirrors that mount to the windshield frame. A friend did this and while slightly ungainly they provide an excellent view. They are my recent favorite.

There is what I presently have the 80's F-150 cargo mirrors. These just do not provide a good rear view. They kind of look right on an eb but I just couldn't get them in a spot where I could see well out of them.

I am waiting to do this until I do "TitanMike's" one piece window trick. Vent window goes away. One piece window goes in. Small triangle in the window corner privides a place to mount a mirror like the FJ mirror noted above.

Bronco II mirrors covered the original holes on my 76. They work OK but have a small viewing area.

Or the Ranger/BroncoII folding mirrors. Good viewing area and have a decent vintage look to them.

I got mine off a 68 Galaxie Fastback, remote controlled, however it is definitely more for nostalgic purposes than functionality, fits perfectly though

I just bought some FJ Cruiser Mirrors. They fit perfectly, although I haven't mounted them permanently yet. I know it's not some people's taste, but I'm not going for a classic look, so it works for me. - Jim

I have similar on my UTV. Great for that but not what I'd use on EB, Very light weight, move around at highway speeds and not even glass mirrors in them, Shiny stickers...

Ahh good to know did not realize that!! THANKS

Had a 76 Mustang once (302,4sp,Mach 1,black fastback). Had the inside mechanical (hand) control on the door for the driver side. And a lower center dash located mechanical (hand) control for the passenger door. I always thought that a remotely adjustable right hand mirror wood be handy. Cool to see the mechanical controls being used. There's a bunch of old fords/mercs that used mechanical controlled mirrors.
I have soft doors and can't use this mirror system.

I agree, I like the old stuff, but I get it, the newer stuff I’m sure is much more functional. I’d just rather say “it’s off a Galaxie” than “it’s off a Mercury Sable” :D

...and call me crazy but I’ve been contemplating mounting an old Mustang rear view on my dash pad a la early Vette  I’m sure someone’s done it

So I was at the pick and pull the other day and found some I really like.
They are found on 87-89 LTC's. They are power mirrors but the glass can be moved by hand easily and they are heated for all you that live where it gets where that might be something you need. I'm going to hook them up to power so they will fully function. Drivers side has a temp gauge on it. Anyway they are really well made mount and sit nicely.
