Had a wedding to attend last weekend so I didn't get much done. But today I did get my grill installed and finally got to check out the new headlights. They look pretty sweet. You can see some pictures with the brights on and off. The lamps look cool off too, it was hard to get a picture of them without reflection.

Thought I would do a quick update. I went ahead and installed the driver side flares. Also today I did some final adjusting on the passenger side body panels. Tomorrow I need to adjust the tailgate, install the windshield frame braces, figure out why my power steering pump is cavitating, install my passenger side seat, and start mocking up my bumpers. Its been a long time coming but hopefully she will be on the road at the end of the month. And just a heads up, I got a windshield from a local glass company for $65.

Today I accomplished most of my list. I installed the windshield frame braces that I made. I used a nutsetter to install it to my rollbar and just installed the other end to the outside holes on the windshield frame. I then made brackets for my seat belt buckles. I used some 1.5 angle iron to bolt to the bottom of the seat. I then bolted the two brackets together to smooth them out and make them look more finished. After welding nuts to the bracket I painted them black and installed them and the seats in the truck. I adjusted my tailgate and installed the bestop top brackets. I also finally got my power steering system bled.

(here is how I finally got the system bled) I had to cycle the steering about 35 times to finally get all of the air out of the system. I also used a trick explained on the 4x4x2 how to on wcb4x4.com. I took a chunk of 1 3/4 hose to extend the ps reservoir. It really helped to keep the pump from overflowing all over the place. I cycled the steering (with pitman arm unhooked and truck turned off) about 35 times. Then cranked the engine without starting 3 times with 15 mins in between each 5 second crank. I then cycled the steering a few more times. Then finally started the truck and cycled the steering. I did this 3 times with 30 min in between and now no puke from the reservoir.

Had a little time this week to go ahead and start mocking up my rear bumper. Tomorrow I will head to the local steel shop to have them bend me up the ends. I also got my driveshaft yesterday and installed it today. I then took the bronco for a trip around the block. Put some serious miles on it!;) This weekend I'm hoping to get my passenger side flares installed, install the windshield, and start welding up my rear bumper.

Today I built my rear bumper. It surprisingly went really well. I used a simple 90 bend at the top and a 45 bend at the lower section. I then used the same bend on the outer sections but tapered the bend up on each end. I had a trailer hitch laying around from a late model f-150 that I cut and installed between the 1/4" plate that my bumper mounts to. I put two 1/2" d rings from ruffstuff on the face of the bumper and tied them into the 1/4" plate by drilling holes through the bumper and welding them to the plate. I then epoxy primed the bumper inside and out. Next week it will get sanded and another coat of epoxy and some hotrod black. I also finally installed my hood latch and cleaned up and painted my window regulators. I also took a few outdoor glamor shots.

Went ahead and sprayed my rear bumper yesterday and got it mounted up today. I also wired up my electric fan. Its a tight fit but I think it will work. Still no windshield hopefully I will have it soon. I also stuck my gopro to the side of my gas tank and took the bronco for a trip down the street. Don't mind the grinding gears%). I'm still getting used to the np435 having to shift over to the right and not straight up into 3rd. Its crazy to see the rear leafs load up under acceleration.

I took a break this last weekend from the Bronco and went and visited my brother in Maryland. We went to New York City, Shenandoah VA, and Great Falls MD. And when I got back I had my windshield waiting for me at work. I was going to do a write up on the installation but I see that Wildhorses has a how to video, so check that out if you haven't installed a rope in windshield. It is about exactly how I install one. One thing that I did was put Kent Rubber Care on the seal to keep it from cracking and getting brittle over time. This weekend I'm going to tidy up a few things on the truck and start my front bumper build.

Today I started my front bumper. I had the local metal supply store bend me a chunk of 1/4 steel for the center winch mount portion. I mounted it to the frame rails and welded support plates onto it. I then made a template that I will get bent out of 1/8 steel for the ends of the bumper. I have found that a simple 90 degree bend at the top and a 45 degree bend at the bottom of the bumper looks the best in my opinion. I also wired up my wipers and installed some converted wiper arms. And I finally installed my Bestop top. It was cold today and it definitely needs to set outside on a sunny day. I put a few miles on the truck today and the top seems pretty quiet (compared to the exhaust). Another update is that I picked up an ax15 transmission. I know I haven't even really put any miles on the truck yet but like any project it is never done. The trans was only 75 bucks.

Well after last weekend off I am back at it. I ordered my door window weatherstrips and belt mldgs and got them earlier this week. I also ordered the rest of the door parts that I was missing. Today I got my front bumper tacked together and ready to start welding up tomorrow. I busted out the plasma to cut the fairlead hole in the 1/4" plate. I am thinking about putting a 2" receiver hitch on the front for good measure. The bumper is coming together good and is looking how I had wanted. Tomorrow I should get the truck pretty much finished up, minus a few minor details.

Looking awesome! Bumpers turned out great. When I get back up there I wanna see it in the flesh. That fairlead cut required a steady hand btw.

Front bumper complete

Put in some good time today and finished up my front bumper. I decided against the front hitch and just put some 10 gauge steel across the bottom. I would have gotten more done but I took a break and hit up the gun show in town. That was good because I picked up some 300 blackout dies for my next AR build%). When I got back I primed and painted the bumper and the tailgate weatherstrip retainers. I also started to install my door glass but had to stop because both lower channels had come loose on the glass. I used some windshield urethane to reinstall the channels. If I feel ambitious tomorrow I will get the bumper on, hook up the winch, and finish up the doors.

Got the front bumper installed today. I'm really liking the way it turned out. I installed the winch but am waiting to hook up the power. It came with a breaker but I am going to upgrade it to a stinger breaker that looks a lot better and is a plastic housing. I don't like having a big positive metal breaker hanging out under the hood. I also got one door completely together today. It really makes the doors close nice having them fully built with all of the weight in it.

Just reread the entire thread, great job on everything you've done. I can only imagine the time and effort you have put into it. Hope you can get out there and drive it soon!

TRUCK IS DONE!....well never done

Well the rig is pretty much finished. I took it and got it aligned earlier this week and really makes it drive nice. I think the np435 that I put in the truck is in need of a rebuid. It is tough to shift and is impossible to down shift unless almost stopped. Good thing is that I have a ax15 that I hope to install before deer season;). I took a few glamor shots of the truck outside. Also the last picture....I think this is a common Bronco problem, Jeep people think you're friends.
