Hey guys, thanks in advance for any input I can get.
I’ve been reading the archives, but I still can’t quite wrap my head around the best course of action.

I have a 170 6 cyl with 105k 3 speed on the column, I have intended on just freshening up the 6 & enjoying the bronco with its limitations. “50mph”
I only cruise, but would really like to add power steering, disc brakes & AC one day.

I am trying to figure out the advantages to some v8 engine & transmission options.

I may have a line on a 70s 302 with a c4 out of an EB.

Is there a path of least resistance concerning engine & tranny combinations?
Simple is better for me.
Thanks
Tim

You can add all of the things you want, but they will suck hard on that 105hp ford gave you from the factory. I just rebuilt my 170, and it does pretty well, but I think the AC will really hurt. Disc brakes won't, and power steering would be minimal I would think. I'm prettt sure you'd have to move the motor mounts too if you went to a 302. You'll also need a different throttle bracket and a different bellhousing. On my build a did a mild cam upgrade, zero decked the block and took .020 off the heads, and bigger valves, up'd the timing advance 6 degrees as well. Now I race side by sides and leave them in the dust.
