That’s really cool. Enjoy the show and the new trans. I just finished a zf5 swap in my 78 a couple years ago. It was a lot of work with a lot I’ve custom parts. Wish the 4050 had been available then. It would have saved time and probably money.

The biggest advantage to the 4050 over the zf is the separate bell housing. The zf’s is massive and gets in the way of everything under a 2nd gen. Being able to use a stock clutch and flywheel without an adapter is a big plus as well. Since the 4050 also uses atf for lubricant I wonder how noisy it’s is. The zf has pretty bad roll over noise with the thin fluid.

I'm sure @904Bronco can give us more info on its shift feel but I think it's a little nicer than the NP435/NV4500/ZF feel that many of us are used to. I've shifted them a few times in displays at SEMA and it definitely has shorter throws than the older transmissions.

I'm going to post some random pictures from today's walk around... This company is doing coyote conversations on the gen 6. There is a 6R behind it, with F 150 T-case, currently stock axles.

My NP435 has a noisy 3rd gear and was tired, hammered, and put away wet. I found it very notchy to operate. The NV4500 was definitely notchy to run through the gears. I have not really driven anything with the ZF. The 4050 has some truck like shifting, but not like the first two. Shifts are smoother in my opinion, but it was designed to be a truck transmission, so....

Noise, there is some but I don't notice it much once I'm cruising at 65-70 mph. I hope that answers some of your questions...
