Got plans for a bug screen in this project?😁😉
That would be an interesting upgrade for these. I used to build all kinds of odd-shaped screens back in the day at my dad's shop - could've built some for these!

Nope. But then I don't often leave them open for ventilation when spending the night inside either!
And I hang light shades over them anyway, so kind of a screen thing theme.

I do leave them open when just sitting of course, and swat flies as they arrive. The rears just add more ingress for the little varmints so it was on my mind.
We had screen inserts to take the place of the zip-out side windows on the soft tops at one point, but not sure if they still exist (except for Jeeps) due to nobody wanting to spend the money.
Might actually be the same issue here. If adding a screen was another $50 per window, it might not fly.

Just putting it out there.

I know on the other post you mentioned limited travel of the glass due to being 5/8" narrower in the rear. Will these be the same, or did you figure out a way to get a little more travel?

I know the 80 Series Land Cruiser rear windows slid in both directions. I was just thinking what if you reversed them so the rear slide forward to gain more travel? Love them either way, just thinking out loud.

Hi Paul, Everyone
Screens, at this point, will be up to the owner. The raw materials for this project is "creeping up there"... Still have to get an actual price on the glass.
As for the opening, I have over 10" slide on the mock up. Again we'll see what I get with real glass.
As for locking, I'm using F-250 slide latches, adhered with 3-M Exterior trim adhesive tape. This is not going to be a "weak spot" for break ins!

I figure 3 ways for delivery....
1, Disassembled, but labeled. Up to owner to cut glass at local shop, (with supplied template). Cheaper shipping and you pick if you want tint or not. I have assembled them with #8 Stainless Machine Pan-Head screws, and will use SEM panel Adhesive in the joints, very strong, You can TIG as an option.
2. Assembled, but higher shipping costs.
3. Come here and pick the set up.
Thoughts?
