Yea..things are still going on behind the scene. I am getting some much needed coaching on the paint/Body work process. Selling off everything but the kids so I can complete this project. I am almost to the point where I can move forward without going into ANY DEBT to complete this Bronco. I talked to a family member that has a well equipped Body shop and it is looking like we may be working something out for helping me paint. At the very least I should be able to use his shop/paint booth if he doesn’t have time to help me. He gave me a time line of about 3 weeks from now to bring it over. I was kinda bummed that I will have to wait 3 weeks to get going on this. Then I realized that I am nowhere near ready for paint and I only have 3 weeks to get ready! So I’ll be spending more time in the shop and less on the computer for the next few months.

I did end up selling my other Bronco"Junko", I hate to see it go but as I said in the beginning I can’t keep them both, and this Bronco I am building Is really turning into everything I ever wanted in a Bronco. So I am happy to keep it and actually get a project finished for once. I actually sold off Junko's frame, Axles, and suspension and kept some goodies to put on this Bronco. here are some pics of the latest “Spare Parts” which are more like Hand-me-downs! . Some BC Shorty headers with 2 in 1 exhaust, a BC 23 gal fuel tank. and a rebuilt 4x4x2 steering box.

Hand me downs for me would be a dented tailgate and used bronco II seats! You got some good stuff there!

I can't tell which build is which anymore.

This is THE ONLY one of my builds you need to look at again...... I have sold just about all my other builds/parts to fund putting this one together.

Thanks guys! Like I said I really want to finish this Bronco. After talking to my wife We decided I need to keep going on it. It’s not that I don’t have money to work on it. It’s the fact that I already spent the amount I told my wife it would cost out of our pockets. So I need to do the rest of this with “Bronco Money” and we all know that slows things down. I actually think I have been taking too much of a break lately…. Basically it has been sitting since the end of last November with only a few things done to it since.

That is why my build took 10 years (and really still isn't done). I also had a set amount of money in my mind that I would spend for the resto-mod. Then, once I got going, I just lost track of it and went a bit crazy. I never went into debt because of the Bronco, but in the end I spent over double what I had told myself I would. Now I look at it and wonder if it was truly worth it. I was truly "addicted" to adding new mods and building new things for it.

But, good for you for keeping good on your finances. I know far too many people that completely ignore it and live a debt-filled life. Best of luck.

almost 3 weeks without any progress.... Except me driving myself crazy over Paint/body work supplies.... I have learned that this rebuilding Bronco's thing is a lot of work! I am hoping that something will give and it turns into something fun again. If any one has some words of wisdom/encouragement now would be a good time for me to hear them...

Hang in there buddy, painting a rusted out vehicle of and sort gets pricey. Lots of people can't afford it at all. ;)

I have to say my Bronco has come a long way this week. It still looks exactly the same as it did in my last pics, but now it is all welded together. Next up I need to build a rotisserie.. I have decided to re blast the tub and take it all down to bare metal again. I'll get pics posted as soon as something looks different.

Body is welded together!

Ok now it is welded together. Except for a few spot welds that will be easier to get when the body is flipped I AM DONE WELDING!!! I'll attach some pics of the Bulkhead. I wanted it to go strait up and down and I put a wider top lip on it to make it easier to put a cover over the bed. I am happy with the way it turned out.

I am in the process of building the rotisserie right now. I hope to be done with it in a few weeks..... just about time for the weather to be warm enough so I can media blast it again and then paint.

Yes I'll be there! I am spending the day working on the 05 Explorer then loading it up with pre sold parts and heading out tomorrow morning. We will be there about 2pm Friday if everything goes right. I've been looking forward to this for 3 years!

No actual progress on the Bronco and the news that after 20 years my partner in Broncos will be moving away soon, leaves me with thoughts of once again throwing in the towel on this build. I am just not sure I can get this finished up by myself. I think that wanting to drive a Bronco everyday and wanting to build a bronco to drive every day are two very different things. The latter is much more work......

right now I am forcing myself to move forward, hopeful that one day I will actually see some progress! I have a pic of the home made rotisserie that I am building.... don't laugh it is paid for! if I get this completed it should make the blasting/painting a little easier.

feel free to chime in if you see something in the pic that might cause me physical harm!

Look back at the successes and keep those current in your mind and you will get there.

Thanks Pete! That's one of the reasons I keep this thread going. It is fun for me to look back and see how far these spare parts have taken me. I am gonna get there eventually.

If you bailed out now- you would regret it even more... Enjoy the journey- it will make good stories in the future... you know, like good campfire type stories!!
