Two things to remember:
1) Don't lie to your wife.
They'll never forget and will never really believe you again.
2) Chocolates will help at this point.

I bought mine for $7000 and have put about $2500 into it for parts, repairs, upkeep (like new tires). I've also bought and sold some parts in the range of $5000 profit so I'm way ahead on costs.

I decided a long time ago that I wouldn't put more money into a vehicle than it could be sold for. Kinda like paying $10,000 for a $2000 car.

I call it my $43 principle. If it costs more to fix the dog than euthanize it, get out the needle, doc.

I bought mine for $7,500 and have never added it up but put over $10,000 probably. I still need the rest of the parts for my turbo set up. Still living the single life so nobody to put a cap on my spending.

Over 15K and I haven't drove it yet! Be thankful when the wife gives you the silent treatment - it can be a blessing (been married 21 years).

No doubt.... Congrats to ya for that, it's an accomplishment these days ;)

I bought mine in 1993 for $450. It is a piece of shit. I love it, but I would not be suprised if it added up to be a $20K piece of shit.:)

I have about $4000 into mine and my wife knows that! I couldn't even think of trying to hide money from my wife! I love my bronco, but I love my wife far more!

Is your wife on here? It sounds like someone is trying to get more bronco money. ;)

~$8,500 & it still looks the same(on the outside) as when I bought it...for $1600;D. It's a HOBBY vehicle to me & spread out over 5-6 years I don't feel bad about it at all! Another $5-6K & it "should be finished"...Pierr

I don't think my wife cares so much about the cost as how much time I spend with it alone in the garage. I tell her I'm just attracted to big rearends.

Remember that a lot of the buying has been over the course of many years. By my account, I've only spent about $800-900 as an average over the past 13 years.

PS-I don't mind giving my $ to a vendor that deserves it. Good customer service and quality parts is what I look for.

oh I'm just as guilty of spending money on my mustangs as many of the guys are on here with their broncos. ;D

2500.00 entry fee and the silent TX when I told her the price as we were driving away from the bank to go pick it up. At lest she didnt call it a lemon truck like he sister called the chevy silverado my brother-inlaw was given (non running) and is throwing money at %). I was given the benifit of the doubt and another 2k to play with befor I have to beg for money.
So far I have spent about 700.00 of the no questions asked money and I am about a month into owing this thing. Hopefully I can get her up to speed quick so the trickel in eccect can happn and I can just start buying things here and there unnoticed

Judy, you and Filly should start a special counseling course for EB wives. Charge 50 bucks a head; the hubby's will gladly pay it.;D

Great idea Bill, that way Filly and I can raise some $$$ for our ongoing bronco projects. Some women buy shoes...I buy bronco parts (you can tell by looking at my shoes the next time you see me ;D)
