Toms EFI tank fuel pump

I have a 23 gallon EFI tank from Toms with the in tank fuel pump. I contacted Toms hoping they had a parts house part number I could cross reference in the event of an emergency that their pump goes out and I can’t wait for them to ship me a pump. But Toms was no help and said they don’t have a part number but I could buy another pump from them. So my question is does anyone have a part number for the pump they supply?

Can't say what they provide in their tank, but it's very possible that it's one of the Ford EFI pumps. What EFI system are you using?
They've almost become "generic" in nature for the aftermarket. There are different brands, and different models, but most are the same overall shape and size, and inlet-outlet configuration.
The "kits" might be different from, say for example, a '93 Mustang to a '94 Mustang. But the main pump is probably the same, with different hoses and filters.
But all that is just a guess. Any chance you have yours out still? Or is it installed in the vehicle and running?

I certainly don't want to make you take it all apart while it's in working order! But that might ultimately be the only way to find out. Unless someone on here has theirs out of the vehicle and can check.
That'd be a win for sure!

In the aftermarket performance pump category, most of them are rated at 255lph (liters per hour) and capable of a maximum pressure of about 90-100 psi. With some going even higher, and a few topping out at about 80 or so.
But since those are meant for factory Ford setups that only require 40-45 psi or so, and the pressure regulator throttles that down to the needed pressures, the overly powerful pumps are not a problem.
It's the flow you need, if you have a really high-performance, or gas guzzling setup. As long as pressure falls within spec and you have enough flow, you're good to go. Otherwise, any factory replacement EFI pump for a Ford up to about '96 would probably work.

Sorry I can't say for sure. And I understand their desire that you'd buy more from them. But in a pinch on the side of the road, you don't really care where it comes from as long as it fits!

Good luck.

Assuming you have what they're currently showing on their website:

https://tomsoffroad.com/parts/66-77-bronco-high-capacity-fuel-tanks/high-pressure-in-tank-fuel-pump/

It appears they're using a Walbro 340lph pump or a knockoff thereof:

https://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/...ct_id=624/category_id=61/mode=prod/prd624.htm

The Tanks Inc site gives you what is probably the Walbro PN that you can probably use as a reference for a spare.

I would use Todd's info more than mine in the previous post then. That's similar, but does not look exactly like the standard Mustang pumps that I related earlier.
Might be the same fitments overall, but doesn't look like it from here.

Does the Walbro site list what they replace? Other than their own?

On the Tanks Inc site, their Series 3 and 4 pumps look more like what I was describing as factory replacements.

Yeah, I think they're different. The shape is different than the more common lph rating pumps that I see used (190 and 255 lph). I'm not aware of any OEM application that uses 340 lph pumps but I'm not an expert in that arena.

Not sure on the Walbro site listing cross-references either.

Yes, that's the more common form factor for most of the OEM replacements. You guys have those pumps in your tanks. It's interesting that the aftermarket is always pushing (no pun intended) these pumps with much higher lph ratings than stock. The stock 5.0 Fox body pumps are a whopping 88 lph!

Says the voice of reason!
Having a spare ahead of time is not a bad idea. Don’t wait until you need it.
And it looks like the Tom’s is on special right now.

Thank you guys for your help. The reason I don’t want to order one is as everyone knows not even new parts are guaranteed to work anymore and hence the reason for finding out which one works from a parts house.
