When filling the carb up w/ gas, is there an amount I need to be wary of?? Will too much create a problem if the lines are dry?

Yes and no. It won't be a problem for the pump, because all it sees is supply, motivation, and demand. You will lose the demand part of that equation with a full carburetor, but that won't last long and it's the only way to get the engine running long and hard enough to get the fuel pumping sometimes.
The thing you do have to be wary of is that putting too much fuel in the bowl will overflow and give you a flooded condition, which is not conducive to starting and running well.

And what type of carb is this?

Just trial-and-error may work here. Dribble enough into the bowl vents to get you going and see if it works. If fuel overflows while you're pouring, you've gone too far.

Good luck.

And if we keep meeting like this, you should start a new thread so Justin doesn't have to listen to all of this.

Oops! I didn't know he would get updates as we all conversed. Starting a new thread "Reviving a sitting engine". Thx.

Sounds good. See ya over there.
And for all we know, everyone else was enjoying just hanging with it and watching the progress.
But it's still a good practice to start a new one if it's going to get involved. Gets more people involved too, especially if there's more than a couple of simple Q & A's.
