This isn't much help but. Years ago a guy had a Bronco here in town that had a 460. I cant remember the specifics but the cross member was notched and it had different motor mount towers welded in and fender mount headers. The auxiliary tank was removed too. I think the firewall was gently massaged with a bfh. Looked like it fit pretty tight. That thing was a Beast. He never mentioned any weight problems in the front end, I would think it is the same as adding a heavy winch bumper. I cant wait to see yours completed. Post up lotsa pics.

Good luck!

Just got a set of L&L fenderwell headers from the UPS guy. Now I'm just waiting on my block from the machine shop so I can start mocking it up.

Thanks for the support. ;D

I just got a call from the machine shop. My block is finished so I can start mocking that up soon. Just need to drill holes for the hood hinges first (Bronco Design tub). Once that's done I can remove the fenders for easier access and drop in the motor

I was actually sizing that up. I put the rear motor plate in the frame to see what may cause interference, but I can't see anything that would necessitate a body lift. All I can think of is maybe the tranny tunnel is too shallow.

I placed my 429 on a V8 frame a few years ago and it seemed to fit in the factory engine tower location just fine. The exhaust manifolds even cleared the frame. That did surprise me.

If you are using a C6 then you will need to do something about the tunnel clearance. A 1-2" body lift should get it done if you didn't want to fab the tunnel cover and floor.

I will be using a front/mid plate setup with a ZF transmission. I believe the ZF has a little more clearance than the C6. I already have a 1" body lift. We'll see how lucky I get.

Crank installed. Oil pump from High Flow Dynamics installed. I'll probably add a windage tray before I close the bottom end. I have one, just waiting on the main cap bolts with the studs.

Diamond flat top pistons for FRPP SCJ heads. Eagle H-Beam rods. Just realized I have to file fit the rings. Should have the tool by Monday.

Just waiting on 2 bolts for my windage tray and a bronze cam retainer. Then I'll have this closed up and start the mockup.

So the big block ZF and NP205 fit with lots of room to spare. I was worried either the starter boss or slave cylinder boss would be tight. Tomorrow's job is to drop in the engine and bolt it all together to see where things fit.

The L&L header is a very tight fit, but does fit. I had to cut the shock tower off. I'll deal with fabricating a new one later.
