I am wiring up a switch to my transmission controller and running into a problem. I have confirmed I have 12v power to the dark brown wire at the controller when the switch is pressed in but it still shifts into 4th.

Is there any thing I need enable tuning wise or on the controller before this feature will work?

I thought you grounded the wire? Not apply 12V to it. But it has been many years since I wired up the last few. And I never got that generation of controller either.

Aren’t you activating the circuit by pressing the switch in
Shouldn’t shift into OD if open but I will have to look at mine again.
My switch a is a toggle but have a light with it starts out with of on and I have to turn it off so it doesn’t it go into overdrive

Broncobowsher is correct. For the switch to work, it needs to be grounded. It can be either momentary switch or a locking on/ off switch (just choose the proper option in the computer set-up screen).

Here is the diagram I was going off of. This means that when the button is engaged the #4 pin should have 12v power right?

I am also going to make sure the setting is correct on the software

Have you configured it in the System Settings?
