Weird trailer tire wear

I've got an odd wear pattern on one of my trailer tires on my car trailer. It's only on the front left tire (brake axle). There's a 2 ft spot of wear on the inside of the tread. There's another identical wear spot 180 degrees from it. The tread on the rest of the tire looks find all the way across the tread! What could cause this wear pattern? axle alignment? Why only on 1 wheel?

I have a pattern a lot like that... Mine came from the brake locking up on one side.... :(

When you get new trailer tires, get them balanced. It does make a big difference in how they ride, and how they wear. Also check the wheel for being true, and like Saddle-Up said, a crummy hub or spindle will cause some wacky stuff to happen.

Always balance your trailer tires. I've even gotten away from bias trailer tires, and run Load Range D, Greenball radial trailer tires. It changed the whole personality of the trailer, it's noticeably smoother pulling.
