I am in the middle of swapping in a C4 into my 1970 Bronco and wanted input on what floor shifters you all are running.

I want something that fits and works well and that isn't a killer on the pocketbook.

Thanks,

I used B&M's "Sportshifter" for our '70/C-4 swap. My son lost the fingers of his right hand in Iraq, so we needed a shifter that does not use a T-handle gate like the Megashifter. Just pull up on the handle and go. Have not got it in, yet- we're still getting the engine put together.

I run the B&M Truck Megashifter which I am quite happy with. Before tht I had a Hurst shifter in there which I hated because of the extra reverse lockout on the side.

I have a Lokar but I run an AOD. They have one for the C4 also. Not cheap but a quality shifter. ;D

I second the Lokar. For about the same price as one of those pain to use ugly shifter on a plastic box B&M things you get a nice quality shifter.

I run a B&M unimatic. pretty cheap shifter, need to put it in a tranny tunnel cover, no reverse light switch though.
I replaced the goofy t handle with a round knob simmilar to the xfer.
I like it because they are just about as long as the xfer shifter. none of that reaching down to shift crap, no ratchet, just a decent looking shifter that works.

I am replacing my 3 speed with a C4 in a few months, I like the Lokar but serching the post looks like the installation requires a lot of work/modifications.. after looking at Cavalry's I think that is the rigth shifter for me.. the only thing I have to find out how long is it.

I am currently running a manual, but I have used the Z-gate B&M in my 69 Stang with a C-4, and I liked it, then I got a Quicksilver full ratchet for my Drag car. They both have their place, I like the Z-gate, but I am afraid it will not operate as well when I get some miles on it..but for now I love the Z-gate. I personally wouldn't want a ratchet in a 4x4...I know some of you have them and love them, but I would rather have a shifter I can reach with my finger tips and hit reverse while I have my head out the door looking at the obsticle... I have got used to the Z-gate myself, but it is funny to have someone else try to shift one...I have laughed many times at people..so it is somewhat of a theft deterant....
Just my two cents.
Oh yea, the Z-Gate is about $100. Quicksilver is about $200. I now have a Bandit shifter in my drag car because a buddy bought a 4x4 Toyota and it came with the Bandit with the rev. lockout.. After one trip he said, "Hey, you want to swap"..... It is great for the race car, but I couldn't imagine it in a 4x4..
Well there is my 20 cents...LOL!!

B&M proratchet with a mod to take the reverse lockout off.

Should be able to get it under 150 stateside and I'll be more than glad to show you how to do the modification.

about 12.5 inches from the tunnel cover top to the top of the shifter. Its about an inch shorter than my j shift. It would be a comfortabe height if it was a 4 speed.

Lokar is awesome and looks the best. Wouldn't try it without a body lift though.. I have the Trans mount type, but i bet the floor mount type would be just as good.

I run a stock column shifter in both of my bronco's. I'm not sure if it would work but it might be worth while to check out the shifter in a dodge omni. It looks like it would work and looks pretty decent. More knowledge is needed to see if this thing would work but if it did I'm sure the price couldn't be beat.

I run the lokar tranny mount style without a body lift. But I had to do some serious cutting. The body mount kind should be way easier and work just as well.
