Considering purchase of 1975 originally Vinyard Gold paint. Undercarriage color is closer to the ginger color. Second owner states all original metal and paint. Any chance he is right?

What part of the undercarriage? Is it possible that the Ginger you're seeing is actually just red oxide primer? Many of them were painted red underneath, if they were painted at all.
But you won't find much body color over most of the under-body panels on most EB's

Good luck on the purchase!
Are you concerned about a color change in this case? Any reason it would be a rare color, or was being offered as original paint and it's in good enough shape that you want to keep it that way?

Thanks for the feedback DirtDonk..The bottom side of the floors, front and back appear to be an original ginger/brown color. I guess it could be oxide paint if the oxide paint is ginger in tone. The body and rust condition is in great shape. Seeing the ginger underneath led me to believe that it is not original floors.

Yeah I bout fell out of my chair when I seen this thread. last I heard he had passed away:cry:

Glad this thread reared it's head up again. Apparently the rumors of his demise were greatly exaggerated!
Unless an imposter is using his handle, you may have seen he popped back up recently to talk about some wiring he's doing. The Return of Seabicuit68

Long hiatus!

As far as I know there are only two ways to know what it came with. And neither is the VIN unfortunately, as older VIN's and especially Fords did not include that info.
The only way is to read the codes on the warranty plate riveted to the glovebox door, OR, if that does not exist anymore, the Marti Report (www.martiauto.com) for a '68 or later Bronco.

Being a "U" I'm guessing yours is more like a '74 or '75 maybe?
I don't actually know what each letter indicates, but seems like the U's came in after '73 at least.

Do you still have that data plate on the glovebox door?
Even the door decal (driver's side B-pillar) usually does not include the coded info. It's usually just on the actual warranty plate.

My newest is an odd one, 1975 Parrot Orange. Hadn't heard of it before buying and thought it was maybe chrome yellow at first.

I believe my newest to be Original Cinnamon Poly. The Bronco is a special order paint with no paint code, so I’m not 100%. Here is a Mustang with the Original Cinnamon Poly to compare the two.
