Boneyards...
If memory serves me correctly you did an extensive write up on a 6r80 conversation.

Buying the 6r80 seems like the easy part. Did you list out partners along with items neccessary? I can't remember.

ebay motors. It was delivered via truck with gate service. Driver used his pallet jack to drop it right in my garage. Trans works perfectly.

Yes on brands of parts and custom work needed. I didn't include specific details for example, I didn't give the exact measurements of the button or snout that was welded onto the converter so when bolted to the flexplate it would actually fit in the end of the crankshaft like it's supposed to. Unlike what Performance Auto says.

My write up on installing a 6r is in the Technical Article section here on CB.

Here's the 6r install tech writeup that someone asked about.

I could have easily made this install about 20 more pages lol, but with over 50 pics and probably too much text already for the average guy who can only follow videos... lol, I figured I'd better stop before people saw how long it was and I scared people off . :)

I will add to this tech writeup when I use the Speed Gems adapter for my supercharged 418 to 6r on my Shorty build here on CB.

I don't know what the core charge is, but a few years back I was pricing out a transmission for a powerstroke. The reman transmission from the Ford dealer was actually a pretty good price and had a good reputation as well. We almost went that route, but the 200k of hard use transmission that was in the truck wasn't bad after all, just needed some minor repairs.

Thanks badkarma.... I put a lot of time typing up a rough draft, pic sourcing and putting drafts together to hopefully have it make some sense! lol

I will add to this when I do the SpeedGems adapter for my slammed 2wd Bronco. Be a good comparison

I have receipts for everything but they are in the file cabinet... it's getting pretty full since I was looking at my Toms Bronco Part receipt just the other day...it showed my first ARB purchase. Feb 1987 for an ARB for a D44 at Tom's Bronco Parts and Rustys 4x4 in Oregon.

Tim from ARB figured it was the first ARB sold for a D44 in the State of Washington.
