I got these years ago and can't remember the specs, they were in the tech section here on the site many many moons ago, I got the rear disc brakes from a Lincoln Mark ? The piston is about 2.5" OD with the inner adjusting protrusion inside the piston using a 1 5/16" socket if it helps identify. Will the 79 Versailles rotors work here? My mounting brackets are all bolt on, not welded like some Marks. The caliper bracket mounts behind the flange and held in by the bearing and race, then bolted to housing. Years ago there was a great article that started it all either here or on Bronco.com, can't find, if anyone has a link it really addresses everything. I have read all the articles here, and still there are some ? left unaddressed. I remember it being said that you had to take a .25" off the splined end of the axle ends, is that now being addressed by spacer on the ? or is it still acceptable to whack .25" off the splines? I understand if I use the Lincoln rotors they have to be redrilled, and the center opened up a bit, and that they are unidirectional, that the axle flanges need to be turn down to .25" also. They also said you should get longer studs as to have better engagement especially with alloy wheels. Any clue as to what exact thickness the F150 rotors are as compared to the Versailles, I would go with those if they are the same and already have the right pattern, funny but the F150 rotors are more expensive than the Versailles from the same manuf. If I can use the Versailles rotors they have come down in price drastically, and I can get a set drilled and slotted for $76 shipped + tax in CA they will match my 79 F150 rotors I have up front even from the same manuf. Same with the calipers if they interchange they are $55 per side but there is a $56 core charge, I usually buy up front and return whatever crap caliper I have, they never have checked that close. Also their rebuild kit is $4 for the calipers, and on that note is there a write up or Youtube video on rebuilding a rear Ford caliper? I know I can weld on brackets and get it all with less hassle time and possibly expenditure. Here's the kicker, I already have the brackets, the calipers and the brake cables but most of all I want all FORD and I want it all bolt on. I am going no bigger than 32" tires as I am keeping it uncut, so I think even the E-brake may be adequate. Plus is there an upgrade in caliper size with E-brake, I already have the T-bird front calipers from Chuck and if you can get something bigger might as well? Also here are my measurements for the axle retainer plate looks like it is 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" the data plate says GVW 4900
Front 2260 Rear 2900 what would that make this. Can't tell what size retainer bolts as I have not removed the drums yet, but the disc bracket use 1/2" bolts as I have those and I just measured them. Let the slaughter begin!!!! Thanks..Mo in Clovis, CA
