Need opinions on correct way to install windshield hinge gasket. It is not as wide as the channel. Should it be pushed towards the front of vehicle against hinge with bulb section to rear, or to back of vehicle with bulb section of gasket to rear?

I believe that's the seal for the top to the windshield frame unless it doesn't have any holes in the seal . If not then I don't know what that is unless it's a fender flare trim/seal. My window frame hinge seals are " flat " .

Right seal. I have seen them installed with the round portion forward and towards the back. I believe the corre t way (from an unmolested truck) is the round part all the way forward against the hinge. Someone will need to verify

Both my '68 and my '77 had that seal installed with the hollow round part towards the front against the hinge pin.

The bulb goes tight against the hinge. I use a little 3M adhesive to keep it against the hinge while it closes. The bulb will compress and squeeze tight against the hinge and keep water from getting around the hinge from the front.

At first I thought it might be a " East coast" - " West " Coast " Bronco thing as the gasket on my '68 and '76 both a pretty darn flat. Looking at them if there is a " bulb " side it must be flattened/squished after all this time .
Don't know which is the correct orientation but a TBPS schematic says the " bulb " side faces the passenger compartment.

The Gasket width is at least 1/2 inch than area it lays in. I am getting the idea that we truly do not know the way it should sit in channel. What type of sealant/caulking to use with gasket? Could instructions from TBP be wrong in gasket orientation? I only want to do this once.

How does the side windshield gasket attach?

Thanks for all the replies.
