Wiper Parking issue

Trying to figure out why wipers will not park. New Painless harness / new wiper switch / old wiper motor

With switch installed, testing wires that go into the motor

With switch in the off position - red wire only has power
With switch in the 1st position - white wire has power and red wire has power
With the switch in the 2nd position - Blue wire has power and red wire has power

In all positions - red with has power
In all positions - black / white wire has no power in any position

Please let me know if this sounds correct and if yes, I will check the motor.

Thanks.

Is this a factory wiper motor with dynamic braking?

Black/wire wire is a “feedback” from the motor. The red lead is constant 12 volts that goes through a cammed micro switch on motor and return either 12 volts (unparked) or ground (parked)

With the switch in off position, the red wire feeds back to switch and powers slow side motor pole until motor reaches park position and at that point it cams over, opens the power circuit and dynamically parks motor by shorting slow pole to ground.

When you say it doesn’t park, what happens when you turn switch off? Keeps running or stops where it was when switch was turned off? If it stops, then I bet the Painless switch isn’t connecting the black/white wire to the slow pole wire (white) in off position (what the OEM switch does)

The contacts in the motor are not making contact.

Sounds like the switch inside wiper motor isn’t opening the circuit as it passes through the park position.

Looks like that pic Viperwolf1 posted indicates the switch is adjustable.

Just checked voltage at the plug.

-Off position- Red wire 12v
-Low- red and white 12v
-high- red and blue 12v
unable to obtain voltage with "washer push" at the black wire

Painless kit with factory switch, should I use the supplied painless switch?

Make sure you have good clean grounds. That is what painless told me every time I called tech support and they were right every time
