4R70W + Atlas II Shifter Options

I have the 4R70W mated up to the Atlas II sitting under a 2" body lift. I'm shifting the 4R70W on the column using the Lokar shift assembly, and haven't cut the floor yet for the Atlas II shifters.

I don't know that I'll like where the Atlas shifters would come through the floor, and I'm thinking it may be better to buy the Atlas cable shifters. Are there issues with going this route (ignoring cost and hassle of dropping the TC back out to install)? Would this allow me to install the TC shifters more centrally on the hump?

Edit: Tried linking a photo on my Google drive here but apparently I don't know what I'm doing.

I like using the cable shifters for the AtlasII, just keep in mind that the cables feed into the front of the shifter. The cables come out the front of the Atlas, then U turn at the trans bell housing, and feed the shifter from the front. There’s not much room to keep the cables underneath when running the 4r70w, so the cables will need to come through the floor near the base of the bell housing.

Yeah, I took a look and there's not a lot space under there and I see what you mean about the cables going forward towards the bellhousing and looping back and entering the tunnel from that direction.
Thanks!

It’s a very nice upgrade, even if you have to run the cables on the floor surface.

Check out JB Custom Fab out of Oregon...largest builder of both cable and stick-type shifters in the US I think? Amazing fit and finish on their products...they own multiple Broncos too!

Do yourself right, check them out before you buy anything else.

Thanks Nvrstuck.

Yes we can do cable shifters for the Atlas, we don't have them listed on our site since we work closely with Advance Adapters, and since there have been so many small changes, we build them to order based on information about each case.

Our cables come in from the rear, over the top. While that eliminates the front cable issues, it can create clearance issues depending how tight your case is clocked to the floor.

The shifter assemblies shown (billet) are just one type that we manufacture we also have stainless steel surface mount and flush mount types.
