68 extra tail light wire?

Yeah, I'm curious as well. I replaced the lamp buckets in my '69 project, and the entire harness as well. I don't recall any ground wires connected to the original lamp buckets, nor any spare wires back there.
same with my 72 tail lightisgrounded through mounting screws,,,,,,,,,, my side markers plug into that.. with the ground as paul described to body behind lamp assembly.

Where does the ground attach to the lamp bucket?

The snap of the '72 wiring diagram I posted earlier in this thread shows the tail lamp bucket grounding directly to the body, no ground wire shown. The side marker shows a ground wire that attaches to the body separately.

Maybe that's the ground I've been seeing then. But it seems strange that it would be in the tail-lamp cavity. Unless that's perhaps the best location for assembly and access.
It has been a long while since I had my eyes in there after all...

Yes that is correct/\/\/\,,, Paul there is no ground off the tail light bucket ,,, the marker has ground to body
