It’ll be a long, sometimes frustrating, but always interesting and rewarding, drawn out process.
Have fun!
Planning on it. This will be my second one to work on. Not a mechanic and don’t have a shop to work out of. Just do what I can when I can. Just hoping this one doesn’t take me 2 years to get it where I can enjoy.

A companion for Lil red and project Blue followed me home.

Well it wasn't the switch that died, looks like the brushes got too short and bound up on the motor shaft. Filed them back to flat and everything works again, I also cleaned all the residue out of the motor and control board area. Does anyone know where to get replacement brushes for the wiper motor?

Finally finished up my front end refresh. New c-bushings, radius arm bushings, ball joints, hubs, bearings, seals, coils, rotors and pads, steering linkage, one new axle, sway bar bushings, and that steering stabilizer shock absorber thingy. Fixed up my camber, caster, and c-bushing issues and it’s sitting perfectly level. I’m ready to roll….and stop.

I thought I was done replacing panels so I had my tub sand blasted and epoxy primed. The rust on the cowl was worse than I thought, so I ordered some more panels from Wild Horses. Some day I’ll get this back on the road.

Took it around the block a few times after the (rebuilt myself) 4r70w and D20. So far so good. Need to tie up a few loose ends before putting both to the real test, but it shifted through all the gears. Hopefully will get everything buttoned up this weekend so I can get some miles on it and do some tuning. Happy so far!

I am writing this before cracking my shower beer, but, after ~1 year and a few weeks, I have finished the bulk of my wiring harness replacement. I started it about a week and a half before my son was born, so it took a back seat, until he was more independent in play and care. I still have a few odds and ends (new neutral safety switch, heater fan wiring, and adding new LED tail lights), but it's essentially done. Before getting it back on the road, I want to drop both tanks (have the hoses and necks for them, and clean them out, since it's been sitting for a year. Otherwise, I'll be getting started on the body/hardtop, before overhauling suspension and updating brakes.

I can't put words to what a relief this is and the excitement of no longer chasing electrical demons from the PO's awful repairs. Cheers to a great weekend!

Looks as clean underneath as it does on top. Ready for the next 48 years…nice work Mark!

I actually washed mine today... :)

Only time of year I will make sure I wash my Bronco asap. Been running dunes in Oregon for 13 days. Gotta get that salty dune sand out of the panel seams, frame rails, etc. I spent a full hour with the air hose blowing sand out from under seats, under the console, under the bolt in toolboxes in back, out from the dash then do it all over again as it blows all over the stuff you just cleaned when it flies out of the spots you are presently airing out... lol Gotta wear safety glasses as my face got blasted every min or so... what a mess!

Then 40 min with the pressure washer. Glad it was 94 deg today as I was rolling around on the creeper after spraying the inside, outside and then laid underneath as I sprayed every seam and bit of metal under the body... bit wet but it's worth it.

I used to drive it into the river forwards then backwards every year for 20+ yrs but after filling my bolt in toolboxes with water w/o knowing it by backing in too far and then having it sit in there making a rusty mess for about 10 days or more I now just use a pressure washer. :) lol
