So has anyone had any trouble with the dual washer resevoir that the vendors sell?

The flashing is so bad on mine i cant get any fluid tp pass tbrough when filling. I mean some will but its extremely slow.

And if o puzh the pump in far enough to seal it interferes with the impellar and wont run. Slip it out a little and it leaks.

Are these common issues? Or did i just get a real pos? Any ideas for fixes?

Thanks guys!

Got a picture?
When you say flashing, you mean that the plastic that makes up the “Screen“ or filter, if you will, has gaps that are too tight?
Or I guess the flashing would be the overzealous application of plastic material during the molding process? Making the openings more of a webbing like appearance.
My original was that way, but it was a buildup of calcium from water. Cleaned it up and didn’t have any trouble after that.
Can you take an X-Acto knife or other type of tool and trim the flashing, thereby opening yours up?

This is the flashing i was referring to. I have already used my pocket knife to make sure all slits were cut through but they are so thin they actually wont let the liquid drain after the tank "pressures up" .

My bigger problem is the pump. How do yall make the pump seal and not leak?

Yeah, that’s a pretty tight slot. Almost have to use a soapy water just to get the lubricity to slip past those suckers!
But the leaking pump is an another thing. I would talk to the vendor (whoever that might be) and see about getting another one. Assuming that the motor and O-ring/gasket are new?

I struggled with my first pump but for the second one I used some lithium grease in the gasket and hammered in the round keeper with a socket. Works perfect with no leaks. I have to admit I don’t use it much but it doesn’t leak and sprays when I push the button.

I think i got it from wh but its been a while so im not sure
If it was from us, we will still have a record of it.
Probably not gonna have any better luck with the flashing, but you can always take a look at a junkyard for an original one to see if the openings are larger. Maybe the Chinese have taken poetic license with the dimensions.
But if you can’t make the leak go away, by all means check with us to see if we can help you out.

I would just make the slots bigger. You could even just drill some holes in it if needed.

As far as the pump I had a problem with mine leaking the first time I installed it. Turns out there is actually a small bump on the pump and a slot in the jug. Or maybe it was a slot on the pump and a bump on the tank. If I remember correctly the slot is about 4 o'clock on the tank.
Use a right angle pick to pull out the retaining ring.
Put the washer on the concrete and tap it flat with a hammer.
Get a large socket that just barely slides down into the hole that the pump sits in.
Locate the little bump and matching slot.
Lubricate the hole with some soapy water on your finger.
Align the bump and the slot and press the pump in tight.
Use the socket to press the retaining ring onto the pump.

I had a carpenter one and it leaked right out the gate by the pump.

Was your leak at the joint where the nipple is coming out of the bottom of the tank? My new Dennis Carpenter tank had a leak there and I thought I had somehow stressed or caught the end of the nipple and caused it to crack. Naturally Dennis Carpenter said they had never heard of a crack happening in that location. I just used a soldering iron to melt and reseal the crack. But if yours was the same I might go back to their email and request a replacement tank.

No mine isnt cracked on the nipple. Mine leaks back past the rubber seal into the cavity the motor mounts in and then out. I can try some grease but a cant push it all the way in. If completely seat it , it binds the impellar and wont turn at all

And as far as the filler hole i guess ill have to "carve" some of the bars out to improve the flow . Kinda defeats the purpose of the strainer though

Yeah check for the bump and slot I mentioned. Mine did the same thing as yours until I pulled the motor out and really looked at it and spotted the bump to try to make sure I clocked the pump a certain way. Also if you took the seals off the end of the pump for any reason know that the impeller vanes go out toward the jug and not in toward the motor.

Ok yea thanks. I was wondering about the direction of the impellar but every picture i saw online was as you said so thats what ive been doing. I missed the notch too the first time around but its been right every other time.

I tried just dropping the impellar down in the hole and turning it with the scribe but it seems to be hanging in a certain spot. Not sure if its a flashing issue or a depth issue yet.

Too deep it binds
Too shallow it leaks

Well it is a mass produced molded part so I wouldn't be surprised if there is some flashing somewhere where it shouldn't be.

I suppose if it was mine I'd try turning the impeller around and see if it eliminates any hanging.

Its kinda hard to see but do yall know if this hole is supposed to go all the way through?

Or what is supposed to be the stop?

This black mark shows how far the pump goes in WITHOUT the impellar. The next pic is with the impellar. Plainly its bottoming out in the housing

I had the exact same issue with my tank that came from bronco graveyard. Complete pain for sure. My impeller was rubbing the sides of the hole when it was pushed far enough in not to leak. I filed down the impeller slightly and that fixed the problem. It didn’t take much at all to get it to work

If I remember correctly that hole at the end is supposed to be closed. I imagine it makes the other half of the impeller housing. Down at the bottom there should be a hole going vertical up into the tank.

Earlier when you just dropped the impeller into the housing does it fit in the hole down at the end? Is the impeller offset at the end of the pump? If it is offset, maybe use a sharpie make a long line on the side of the pump. Then grind or find some way to remove the little bump and turn the pump in the housing and see if it seats better. Though I would be concerned that without the bump the pump might slowly turn in the housing during use and twist up the wiring over time.
