Got my dash in and started hooking up the Dakota boxes. I got a wire ferrule kit. I thought this would be great because I wouldn’t have to worry about stray wires going into other terminals. But a few of them have broken after I inserted them. So I’ll have to recheck the good ones and not use these ferrules for this again. On a good note I’m happy with heat shrink label tube. I used the 5.8mm for the 16 ga and smaller.

Did a tire rotate and buffed out the wheels for a quick shine, no where near a professional job but made a big difference

Well, I had an exhaust spring break and counted my blessings that it didn't drop and crack the block ... BTDT decades ago...

So, got back from a nice trip and my parts were waiting so I put them in yesterday after pulling the head and it ran idled great last night! Yay!

Buttoned it up this am, ,let it idle to reach coolant operating temp since I'd adjusted that b4 I left town and it worked great. Put about 8 miles on it around town and stopped to do my almost weekly (not many miles/gallons this week in the pic below) and when I started it the idle wouldn't drop below 2,100 rpm... posted all the details in my build thread but here's a pic of my WEEKLY GAS PURCHASE! lol

Have a good week everyone! :)

So... story never ends... lol

Let it warm up at night (see pic above). Did the same in the am & drove into town to run some errands... made a couple stops, about 30 min total & pulled in to get some gas. Stopped at 72 bucks for a whopping 12 gal & fired it up. 2100 rpm idle speed! WTH? Lifted the pedal with my toe-no change. Shut it off. Reatarted... 2100 rpm idle speed... again. :( I mean, all i did was shut it off and now it idles faster than my rpm on the freeway at 70 miles an hour!

Made it home, it's still idling super. fast...

Throttle was on the throttle stop, nothing wrong with the blades in the four hole throttle body...

Gotta be another failed brand new part. But why only thirty minutes after I just fixed another new part that broke?

Does anything last anymore?

Nobody in town had a Camaro IAC so I ordered one for the next day. I also ordered another TPS since they seem to die on any given day of the week because they're tired or something... lol

Anyway, got home from my appointment yesterday afternoon, put the t p s on because it was so much quicker and easier access, and it controls the IAC at times but no luck. So I replaced the IAC & fired it up... 1400 rpm but only for 2.5 sec and then it idled right down to 750 like it should. Then "why" idle at 1400 rpm for a couple seconds...?

Started reading more and learning more about Holley Term X's.

So did some IAC tweaking on it last night & I'm closer, but we'll do more later today.when I get a chance.

At least I found the problem with that being another dead part that is only three years old... I do drive it alot but these parts should last 10 yrs and 100K miles not 2 months for TPS's (Echlin) or AC Delco IAC's for

Pics... well, pics because we like pics!

UPDATE! 2 days later... IAC will not sit at 2-5. I can set it there and after 5 min of idling it goes up to 25 and sits there. I can adjust down to whatever and it climbs back up W/O an rpm change. TPS sits at 0 or maybe 1. Yes, did a TPS reset several times...
Gotta love non- OEM electronics... kinda getting tired of it... :)

My wife needed another ride in the Bronco. So I drove her, to her, 2hr hair style appointment. While she was at the appointment. I went to the gas station for the first time. Put 10 more gallons of 91 octane in the tank. Which brought the fuel guage up to 3/4. Then I drove it around for another half hour or so, before heading home. The Bronco odometer is showing 48 miles so far. I picked up my wife later, with my daily driver. Here are a couple pictures, before going back into the garage.
