Bill stroppe clone

Ive got a 74 Viking Red explorer that I am going to do as a Stroppe "tribute" with wheels, steering wheel, dual shocks, etc. I'll never be able to afford the real thing, this is as close as its gonna get for me.

As long as you are upfront about it, I think it is totally acceptable.

A friend came about as close you can get to being able make a clone, with it being only a half clone.
His 73 was painted by Ford in the Stroppe red and white livery. Just without the blue top panel and flat black hood.
But it was never delivered to the Stroppe facility and simply sold through the dealers as a standard 73 with a two-tone paint job.
Instead, he chose to paint it all orange because he didn’t like two tones. Even though it’s beautiful now, the original paint was in shockingly good condition still. I tried to get him to leave it. Maybe even turn it into an semi-Baja and add the additional two colors, but he was going whole hog into the rebuild and wanted all new paint.
Oh well…
