Took advantage of the 60 degree weather and gave Phred a well deserved bath after the wet December we had.
Drove it for the first time about a mile down the road and back since starting this build 5-1/2 years ago. No tag, no lights, no windshield, and hardly any brakes, but it was fun. Doors held closed with a ratchet strap.

I picked up a Tuffy Box for my Bronco this fall and got a spacer kit with it. Turns out the spacers don't clear the seatbelt hardware? I decided to make some spacers and mount the console without drilling holes in the floor. The previous owner of my Bronco had issues with the seat mounts in the floor and just drilled a few of them out and put a long bolt through the floor. Removing/installing is a pain when you are working by yourself. I wanted to avoid this situation with the console. I debated whether I should just just use rivet nuts, but I was out of 5/16". I went to my scrap pile again and grabbed the Jeep JK tie rod and cut a few spacers on the South Bend.

I drilled/tapped for 5/16" hardware and cut a shoulder on the bottom to easily locate the spacer on the base plate.

I dusted off my Torchmate and cut a simple plate that fastens beneath the seatbelt hardware and one of the footman loop bolts. I decided I would try the front end of the box on a single floating mount and used the existing holes on the Tuffy. The box was offset to the drivers side to leave some clearance for the passenger seat release lever. The shoulder on the spacers drops into holes on the plate that were laid out in CAD, so assembly was fool proof.

Installed. The console is solid and I am glad I did not spend much time figuring out the front end. I am really happy with the results and driving the Bronco with a place to rest your arm is awesome.

Cleaning up and up-grading a Dana 44 for a project that I've been working on for way to long. For some reason the picture didn't show up on original post.

I have been slow on the bronco progress last couple of months. Decided to finish up some other projects, like welding my UTV tire carrier back together since it decided to eject my new spare tire somewhere in Northern California on a long ride. Whoever found it has to be scratching their head, lol.

Next step with the bronco is getting an engine and transmission installed. I want to get it running before I finish the rest of the body. Frame and underside are painted already, need to get the engine bay ready for prime and paint. I took a week off around Christmas to get this done, and of course I didn't work on it at all. Sucked it up and knocked it out yesterday.

FINALLY found a hard top! Local, less than an hour away. Not perfect, but it's got the liftgate and hardware. It popped up on FBM, I reached out to the seller, and went and picked it up today.

Going to need some rust repair and possibly a roof skin, but at least now I have something to work with.

Decided to uncover some more of the rust to see how bad it was.

And discovered that my bronco has THE most sturdy door hinge posts ever made.

Anyone ever seen 3/8 plate steel
Used as a doorpost ?

And 1/8 plate as a kick panel ?

And a bolt welded in the striker post to provide the curvature behind a ton of bondo ?

Gonna leave the sturdy hinge posts

The doors were never lined up perfect but I think I can use shims or something to get em right .

Might see if I can cover em up with the repop hinge posts just so it looks better

Will replace the striker posts and rockers and floor boards

Maybe add a vintage air hvac while im in there .

So you made cut outs in your dash? I am about to start doing the same thing to mine in a couple of weeks. Getting under the dash is just too tight in my opinion. I like this idea much more!

Finished the Marschariot voltmeter mod on my instrument cluster. Not completely happy with the face of the gauge but will work until i get something else. Also installed my Fitech and fuel pump. Still have a lot of tuning to do.

Added an incognito ignition kill switch to an existing hole on the underside of my dash. When activated, this grounds out the points trigger wire on my MSD (Ultra 6A) and the engine will crank all day, but will not fire. Just one more measure to foil would-be thieves.

Finished rebuilding my heater box with new heater core, new squirrel cage and motor, and full reseal kit. Went with stock motor and fan and not the GM upgrade because I’ve never had issues with air flow. Used rivnuts where the cover was previously riveted, just in case…
