    tie rod/drag link?

May be a "duh" thing, but make sure the cotter pin in the castle nut is still intact...and that the nuts are still tight. That's a tapered fit, so if the pin goes you could have them backing out, which could cause the whole thing to roll when the drag link pushes on it. If the look ok from the...

My door locked and wont unlock!

Happens to mine too, but usually only when trying to unlock with the key. I watched it carefully when I unlock it and what happens on mine is the locking post comes up, shows full unlock position -- but doesn't quite release the lock inside. The way I get around it is to either unlock it...

    what should i do

Incidentally, don't be stumped if none of his keys fit your ignition. I took mine in to get it copied and turns out I have GM key (and, I guess, GM door locks, ignition tumblers, etc...????) ?:? ?:? ?:? ?:?

    tie rod/drag link?

Did you happen to change tires when you lifted the truck? The contact patch on a 12.5" tire is a lot bigger than that of a 10.5". Could be showing up in your tie rod.

    Leaks

My D-20 that has about 7,000 miles since rebuild recently started leaking. Gear oil collects at the back and I can't tell where it's coming from. Any ideas on where to start looking? Also, I have the script bronco valve covers and I get oil up through the breather. Is this a poorly designed...

    Lean, but wierd

I actually just replaced the top bushings today. The old ones looked ok and the hole wasn't wallowed out or anything. There is some flex there but it's the same with the new ones. I'm not sure what else to look at. I noticed driving it that it's easier to turn the tires to the left than the...

    Lean, but wierd

I've been reading through the posts on bronco lean on here and I'm not sure it describes my problem. I have about 1" difference between driver's and passenger's side height at the bumper in both the front and the rear...and if I'm measuring correctly, about 1/4" difference between wheelbase...

    Battery explosion

I just got the truck back the other day and I now have oil seeping from two of the bolts on my valve cover. I know for a fact that these weren't leaking before the battery incident, but it doesn't look to me like any acid or anything got on them. Mechanic says he didn't take the valve cover off...

    Battery explosion

The voltage regulator was showing full field to the battery at 17 v. I guess the battery just took on more juice than it could handle. The reason the engine felt funny was the battery acid ate through the boots around the spark plugs and they were arcing to the headers. I was running on six...

    Battery explosion

So I was driving down the road and my engine sounded...funny. I pulled over and had battery acid sprayed everywhere under my hood! Background story: Past few days my battery has been dying. It's died three times, to be precise. I hadn't had a chance to do anything about it other than get...

    Reamer

For future reference to the community (or anyone searching for this topic): I found a company that only makes reamers and quite a few of the online tool suppliers buy their inventory from this company. Chadwick and Trefethen Inc, they do reamers only and have been around since 1892...

    Any hope for this top?

Can someone take a picture of this? I'm not sure I know what it is...which means I probably don't have one! %)

    Newbie Tire Question

I second that. Going from General MTs to BFG ATs was like going from a 1984 civic hatchback to a caddy. Smooth ride, so much quieter, they wear better, and I think they did just as well in mud.

    Body stuff ...help

Sorry, got caught up in other projects. The body mounts are new and the frame is fine (as in rust free, it may be warped or something). I was going to take it to a body shop but I have a few days before they'll be available. Can someone give me the measurement from the top of their windshield...

You do realize, of course, that you don't need a lawn mower when you have rocks for a lawn...right?
