Yes they both need to match for 4WD. Otherwise, never lock the front end in and rear wheel power only!

What is the drive train gear ratio? If you are maxing at 50-50 mph, guessing you have 4:56 gears? Mine with 4:11s will hit 65 easy in stock formation. Not racing material but will do better than you say.

Also seems to have '66 doors (inside and out) and the grill has the larger turn signal lenses. No hood loop either. May have been just stuff added or replaced over the years. Maybe get the vin number? Anyways, nice looking rig.

The metal airbox that everyone thinks is standard for the '66 is usually only found on the early '66 broncos along with the eyebrow grill. Typically after October or November, the standard flat (non-eyebrow) grill and plastic side airbox are the norm. As for the oil bath aircleaner, '67 six...

The heads are the same. The mounting hardware is different though. Usually a triangular three hole base for the Ford trucks and cars, two hole flat base for the broncos.

Grill Guard Not sure exactly what this fits other than thinking the BBs of '78/'79 or possibly 60's/70's Ford pickups. Definitely old school!! There is the embossed Ford lettering at the top. Hard to see in the pics. $100 and again, can bring to Broncorama for free shipping. tim
