3.5" WH SL and Manual to PS conversion project.

sorry to hear about all the problems on the lift install. I did my complete WH setup in about 2 hours, but I have also done lift kits before and I was at my shop with all the tools in the world and my bronco was on a lift. My only problem was the 30+ years of dirt and grime falling on me.....the...

    Clear Coat

You are starting over, chances are spending a bit more money this time to assure that you get more then 4 years out of it this time. Even the BEST case senerio here, you manage to grab a razor blade and get all the peeling clear off,(I do mean ALL), with out harming the base. This is very...

Blasting the tub----Primer before bedliner hurt?

I am in the middle of a 71 chevy PU for my boss. He bought it as a "virgin" truck, factory big block, according to the original owner it has never seen an accident or a new paint job. Now keep in mind, my boss has owned a large body shop for the last 16 years, all finishes on this truck looked...

Blasting the tub----Primer before bedliner hurt?

every full resto that I have done,(including the one that I am in the middle of right now), I sandblast first, usually finding alot more hidden damage or previous repairs that werent done correctly, then use PPG epoxy DP primer, and start my panel replacement and body work on top of that. Epoxy...

    Might be selling.

the people that have always had money still do. 8k is a good deal on that even needing a few things finished up. My thought would be to price it at 9,700. 10k scares alot of people away for some reason. Nice bronco, sorry you have to sell but family is number one in my book as well.

    Line-X Removal

there is nothing fun about removing any kind of bedliner. it is all a pain in the a** to get off. I have done it numerous times in my shop. The best thing that I have found to work is a heat gun and a putty knife. As you are just removing a section then take a razor blade and score the part that...

72 Bronco basket case: Should I go for it???

I paid 1200 for my basket case a few years back, 72 as well. "rebuilt" motor never fired, and tons of boxes in a solid tub on a solid frame. Motor was junk, 2 inches of water in each cylinder told me to toss it and start over. good thing was no rust, I got a used 302 from a buddy at a good...

    Paint job cost$$$

I make my living doing paint/body and shop rate is not cheap at all. There was a shop rate quoted in this post of 45-60 an hour, thats about right , but you have to remember for every hour there is a material charge there as well. Every body hour= $10-20 extra per hour for body material, every...

    Golf Clubs

my clubs are almost always in the back of my bronco and I just have a soft top w/inserts set up. I figure its easier to give someone who is low enough to take your stuff access then to have to replace glass once its happened. never had a problem yet but knock knock..... hard bag chained to the...

    Fuel efficient engine swaps???

all this talk about fuel mileage, I drive my bronco more times then not because it gets the BETTER mileage then my truck. Plus driving a bronco is driving a bronco. Mild built carb 302, average is about 14mpg. for me that is. 33in tires, 411 gears. In the process of a EFI swap, shall see where I...

Never been on that trail, what are the specifics of it? just a dirt trail that cruises around the lake or is there going to be reasons to get into 4wd and wheel a little bit?

    Expert thoughts on this Bronco?

If that rig sells for 30k then we all need to start building and selling! was it nice...ya. Would I even consider paying a dime over 15k for it, no. Almost any EB selling for 20+ right now better have a build sheet or at least the history of the resto,(not just a "wheels off" inspection), and...

scared to start my EFI swap....

kinda thinking that I just sit on my parts car, spend the summer doing nothing but searching/saving some cash for the unexpected and start in the rainy season, after all, I do live in oregon. I have helped on a efi bronco build before, but the diff was the guy had all the money in the world and...

scared to start my EFI swap....

have a donor car with a great running motor,(89 linc, 5.0, low miles), planning on the factory harness, already have the flywheel i need to go to my trans, so basicly it is the wiring part I am backing away from. It is coming into summer, nothing better then a bronco in the summer but I would...

    Dana 30

been wheeling my dana 30 with 33's for about a year sorta hard now. still hanging in there. have plans to upgrade to the 44 just so I dont really need to think about breaking but the current set up has done well. Daily driver/weekend warrior you should be fine as long as the axle is in good...

Break/Fix with the family in the bronco..

right on! have my own story of my 72 clutch rod breaking while driving with the wife to go to 'our' weekend away. fixed it and all but yours is great because you also tought the kids a valuable lesson....you can always make an old ford get you home. may take awhile but it gets you there. Great post!

    Good donor vehicle?

as far as ease of the swap goes either a 302 or a 351 with the c4 behind it is going to be your best bet. as I have recently found out on this site putting a c6 in requires driveline and crossmember mods as well. If you are doing it, look into fuel injected 5.0 motors, the trend in motor swaps...
