    1977 Bronco Refurb Questions

Welcome to the best forum on the ‘net. Become a contributor for $12/year and you can post pictures…and we need to see pictures! I’ve got a 77 as well, but it’s raggedy enough I’m having to rebuild it. Randy

    Oil bath air filter/smoke question

Either (1) a very long section of “flatness”, (2) a steep downhill grade, or (3) incorrect speedo gear in the transfer case. Had a 200 I6 that replaced the 170 I6 it was born with and I can testify to all of the above methods. Lol Randy

    Working that body!

The only way to avoid the continued removal of parts??? Just don’t take the first piece off. It has been said that hindsight is 20:20 vision, but knowing then what I now know I would have pulled the tub off of the frame to begin with. Not sure I’d buy a new tub as I’m too cheap for that option...

Gen 1 Bronco hard top hoist for garage?

May not make sense but it’s the best I can do without my drafting arm and table. If there’s anything I need to explain (or am able to) let me know and I’ll try to. Randy

Gen 1 Bronco hard top hoist for garage?

$99 for an HF beats the heck out of $500 for the Lange. All I did was put a pair of 2X4s the length of the bed rails between the rail and the top. Run some screws through the top into the 2X4s to secure them. Lift them up enough to get a pair of 2X4s cross ways underneath the 1st set making...

    Working that body!

I only meant to do some wiring, redo fuel and brake lines and the only thing left original on the tub is the bed up to the front seats and the rear sides. Have ALL new sheet metal from the A-pillars forward and both floor pans and both rockers. Every piece taken off revealed more rot to...

May be able to take a vacuum (shop vac or maybe a keyboard vac) cleaner and suck the shavings out. Randy

    OE Style Tachometer Issue

How much do you love this particular tach? Take it off the mount and smack it face down in the palm of your hand. If there’s any pressure from the needle against the stop pin, that should allow the needle to “hop” back into its proper position. As in all things electrical/mechanical, your...

Secondary hood latch that doesn't interfere

Thanks! It’s looking like I’m gonna have to move my core support a ‘whisker’ or two to get clearance. With how I’m welding right now, I might get 3 to make a successful latch. Lol Randy

Secondary hood latch that doesn't interfere

What year/years of the Taurus did you use for this conversion to remote release? TIA Randy

    4 link, ORI's, narrowed D60w/only 2.5" lift, 5"+WB stretch, 2" floor lower, P/S....,

Dang it, Brian, with this run of bad luck you should be due for something good…like a $100K win at the casino! Here’s hoping you get home safely. Randy

    Body swap to EB chassis

Before the days of cell phones (‘86 or ‘87) I was at deer camp and saw a Chevy Vega on an EB frame. It was ridiculously tall. Lol. Best of my memory of how it looked next to my ‘72 with 3 1/2” lift and 36” Co-op mud tires, it had about 6” of lift on 45” tires. The driver literally had to park...
