    US Shift Quick 1 O/D On/Off

Broncobowsher is correct. For the switch to work, it needs to be grounded. It can be either momentary switch or a locking on/ off switch (just choose the proper option in the computer set-up screen).

    Type/ location of trans cooler

So recently I discovered my trans is running hot (4r70W). Currently just running a tube and fin cooler and figured that would have been enough but a couple of days ago, I happened to be scanning through the read-out screen on my US Shift Quick-4 and I noticed it was up to 240. I plan to run...

Apogee- Thanks! Just making sure I was considering everything

    77 F150 vs 79 Bronco Dana 44

Bad73 and BMC69. Thanks for the info. One additional question: Obviously the 1/2 wall thickness is an huge advantage but what is the advantage of being able to relocate wedges? I think I know but please verify. 1) relocating wedges should allow you to keep stock spring buckets (correct?). 2)...

    77 F150 vs 79 Bronco Dana 44

Can anyone tell me the difference between 77 150 and 79 Bronco D44? I know the 78-79 D44s have cast wedges instead of welded on wedges. Are there other differences? If so which do you recommend and why. I currently have a 79 front end waiting to be installed in my 70 but I also have a chance...

US Shift Quick 4 controller for 4R70W

Broncobowsher and Jebus. You guys are talking way beyond my capabilities. I understand the what you are saying regarding pulses and what not but I don’t know how to diagnose that sort of stuff. My limits with electrical are power, ground, and continuity. However, Kevin at US Shift did say to...

US Shift Quick 4 controller for 4R70W

For all of you with a 4R70W and a US Shift controller. When I am in the top available gear (either OD or 3rd with OD turned off), my electronic speedo does not work - it either sits at 0 mph or bounces around near 100 mph! Initially, I had both grounds from the trans controller tied together...

New Explorer Water Pump Won’t Turn

Man!!!! I just finished up a explorer ser swap on my 351 with the same parts. Sure glad I did not run into the QC issue with the Flow Cooler pump. Pretty sure that would have put me over the edge!

    8 lug HD 44 vs Dana 60

Reynard101- Thanks! Great info. I never considered the potential need for a bigger bore master cyl due to the dual piston brakes. Also the info about 15s possibly not fitting is a great consideration as well. I have a junkyard hydro boost (astrovan) with a mid 80s Vette mast Cyl. Think that...

    8 lug HD 44 vs Dana 60

BUCKWILD- since the stub shafts will work, are the U-joints the same? I.E. can I use normal 44 stub shaft with HD main shaft? reynard101- is there a benefit of using the 5 lug brake calipers? Just wondering why someone wouldn't just use the 8 lug calipers. Finally, anyone know if parts...

    8 lug HD 44 vs Dana 60

Does anyone know if the parts from a HD 8 lug Dana 44 From the late 70s F250s are interchangeable with the regular High pinion Dana 44 (5 lug) from the same years. Thanks

    Explorer serpentine Lower radiator hose?

Rodrig3911- I just finished my serpentine swap with my 351. Finding belts was a PITA. In short, I am using a Dayco hose part # 81341 (its a hardened flex hose about 19"). Here are the issues I dealt with and why I settled on the 81341. 1) Swapped to a 5.0 conversion Champion radiator. 2) A...

Should Explorer clutch fan always be turning?

I just finished the explorer serpentine swap on my 351 and I noticed the fan is always turning. I am unsure if it is just turing in due to minimal sympathetic force from the water pump. I let it sit for awhile and the engine got up to 210 and it seemed to be spinning at the same speed as it...

    Atlas II install question

One thing to consider is to angle the powertrain a few inches towards the pass side frame rail. With the engine mount bolts loose, pull the rear of the transmission 2-3 inches towards the pass frame rail. This will give a little extra room to clock the tcase a little higher. This is what I did...

    Wlid Horses leading the pack!!!

Yep- Duff's is great too. Mike has been awesome in helping out. Never had any bad experiences with Toms, I just got in a habit of ordering from WH at some point early in my "Bronco childhood.". Jason at BC is beyond customer friendly. Have spent many hours on the phone with him and he is...

    Wlid Horses leading the pack!!!

Just wanted to take a minute and give a plug to Wild Horses. I have owned my rig now for 19 years and they continually provide exceptional parts selection and customer service. We all know the headache and frustration of trying to put 21st century technology into 50 year old Broncos and the...
