changed all gaskets and while doing so found to screws missing from the bottom that hold the throttle plate to body, dam the PO. Adjusted the floats idle screws pump and now it runs great

I've tried that in the past and haven't had much luck but I guess its worth another try.

I do have a pcv valve but its capped while I'm trying locate the problem. I have a hose for the brake booster that is connected to manifold. I will take a look at that one to see if its the problem.

Yes all caps are new and I removed all of them one at a time to try and locate the problem. I will try and check all of the internal gaskets.

Ford Holley 4160 carb making loud hum/whistle sounds as if its being created by vacuum. Really loud never heard anything like it. Any thoughts of what it might be. Seems to go away when the rpm's come up off idle. All vacuum ports are capped off while trying to find the problem.

What holds the o-ring in place? My C4 does not have a Neutral SS on it. It was removed by the PO is this maybe why itis leaking?

Thanks jedblake I changed the pan gasket already. I guess its about time I get a C4 service manual, is there a manual someone would recomend?

My C4 is leaking and it seems to be leaking wear the shifting linkage goes into the case, can this be fixed pretty easy or not? Where else may it be leaking from if not from there? Thanks for any help you can offer.

What type of threads are we woking with, pipe, compression or standard bolt threads.

Once its bolted to the transfer case it will hold its self. Dont weld the ends of the shifters to the flags, you may wont to remove the shifter some day.

My trans mission is leaking into my transfer case does anyone know which seal I need and is it a transfer case seal or is it a transmission seal? C4 dana 20 j shifter.

Thanks Viperwolf1 maybe I will go that route in the future but for now the new duff j shifter is working very smooth with out any problems but I can see wear it would be an advantage to have 2L and only front wheel drive.

Viperwolf1, Thanks for all your help one of the bolt mounting the shifter is sticking out to far and preventing it from moving all the way back. I just need to flip the bolt around so the bolt head is on the same side as the sifter and not the threads. Thank you once again.

Could the detent ball be preventing it from moving all the way back?
