Here's a picture of the current setup. The mustang serp includes the timing cover, and water pump. I've got a 5.0 conversion radiator already installed

The Mustang harmonic, does it have a tone ring on the back side? The Explorer EDIS has one and needs it for firing the coil packs.
I'm told the 94/95 Mustang timing covers are the same as Explorer (same offset/thickness). not 100% sure but I recall seeing it on here somewhere...
I think your existing belt drive should work but wait for others to fill in my knowledge gaps.

p.s. highly recommend getting in touch with EFI Guy for an EDIS harness & computer. I have it on my 351W (Lightning upper/lower) and it runs awesome.

I'll have to look efiguy up. I'm using a bronco balancer bolted up to the mustang pulley. So I may just need to buy an explorer balancer to make it work

Mustang does not have a tone ring only the Explorer.
The Mustang is a longer front drive by about 7/8".
The Mustang waterpump is not setup to accept a fan, that vintage was electric fan only.

The 94/5 mustang is very different from the Explorer. I don't know for sure about the timing cover. But I have never seen them listed as interchangeable before.

Hmm, sounds like I'm SOL if I want to run the explorer EFI and keep my mustang front dress. No big deal. It would have been convenient. Does the explorer run the tone ring so it doesn't need a distributor? If thats the case do I then block off the distributor hole?

The Explorer has a cam sync sensor that goes in the distributor hole. This way the computer knows when to fire the injectors to match the firing order. Otherwise it might be firing the injector on the power stroke and not the intake stroke. It drops into the distributor hole and also runs the oil pump.

Wait so you have a 68 block now. What cam are you running? If it's a non HO cam then the G-M EFI isn't looking so bad depending on price.

Speed Density isn't a bad thing you just can't tune on it per say. It should run good on your rig. You wouldn't have to change anything just put it on.

I think I only have 2 wires spliced into the Bronco harness for my EFI. Everything else I run off it's own power source.

Reach out to EFIGuy and ask him about the ECM and see if he has any advice on it.

I plan to talk to him. I started watching his youtube videos last night about the harness modifications. I have what I believe to be an RV cam. I built the motor 15 years ago and have since lost the spec sheet.
