Color coming soon....

Wheels mounted. Messy garage I know. I've got 3 broncos in there and one is in pieces. My wife wants her part of the garage back. Not sure that will ever happen though.

Guys are still priming and sanding. Most of the panels done or close. See pics

Thx To Tom my photographer...:)

Thank you. Just paid for one.

This jack thing is kinda crazy. I attached the pic of my dealer brochure (shows jack mounted on the floor). Mine never had one mounted on the floor as there is positively no sign of the mount ever being there.

Who knows, either way I am covered now. Thank you.

Yep tires look good. About a month or so and I should be back behind the wheel:cool:....hopefully if summer ever comes to Michigan again.

Rich

I have not been on CB much in the last few months, Your rig is really starting to take shape! Looking good! Love the retro tires!

I finally got the jack hold down hooks that we talked about last Fall finished and back from the plater today, so if you want one to go in that freshly painted spare wheel, just let me know.

Thanks Rich, I will get one out to you ASAP.

The reason the photo in the 67 brochure shows the bed mount is that is likely a 66 in the photo since they prepared the brochures ahead of time and often reused stock photos as well.

They generally were pretty good about making changes to many of the interior items (airbrushed?), but missed some. If you look through all the years of brochures you will see many of the same photos with matching backgrounds, but just slight differences.

Look at the undercarriage shot on page 7 of the 67 brochure and you will notice it is a 66 chassis with forward upper rear shock mounts. You can also see that all the Broncos inside have 66 style square cut bumper ends (the cover does appear to have 67 tapered end, but it is sort of hard to see in that angle). I also just noticed that the cover Bronco does not have a windshield loop on the hood, but does have the latch on the frame?

I've learned to be very cautious when using promotional literature as a reference (and even some assembly info out there from original FoMoCo drawings in the assembly book by Jim Osbourne which has lots of incorrect or items that never went to production like shoulder belts, roll bars, etc.).

Like they say, trust but verify!

While I wait for the bronco to come back from paint I'm making room for more Broncos.

Removed the old garage door opener and chain drive.
Moving all associated electrical and such.
Removing drywall and prepping for builder buddies to come Sat and vault the roof.
Vaulted roof to allow room for a 4 post lift and 2 stacked broncos. (12' ceiling currently).
4 post lift ordered and liftmaster 3800 ordered (not mine in 1st pic).

Lift will help on working on broncos and taking bodies off, etc.

Back to the bronco. Hub caps, stock converted radio, chrome tailgate hitch all coming back this week. Dash next week and body the following (I hope).

Hey Rich, quick question regarding your wheels... you've got a closeup of one wheel that shows the center to be a sort-of pentagon shape. The other photo of all 5 wheels looks like 3 of them are perfectly round, 2 have the pentagon shape. I've got the same thing going on with my wheels... I just assumed they were hodge-podged together over the course of the last 36 years, but curious if you knew why the difference b/w the two?

Thanks!

Yeah. I have one wheel different than the others. It is and was my existing spare. It is actually a little heavier (metal a little thicker) and weighs more. Other than that dimensionally it is exactly the same. Same height, width, bolts, etc. I am told that it is a later wheel (no a 67 wheel). Maybe they (Ford) beefed them up on the later years?

Some goodies came in the mail today. Just need my bronco back from the painters. Hopefully end of next week. Radio arrived and looks perfect. Mint stock radio converted to am/fm 45 watts per channel. Hiding 2 speakers under / behind the dash like my Luber bronco. Also has iPod input. Auto sensing and switches inputs as soon as it senses a signal. Unplug and unit goes back to am/ fm

Hubcaps came back and look new. Very happy.

Pics below.

Excellent!

What paint did you use on your transmission/transfer case? I am rebuilding mine and like the look of yours.

Who did your hubcaps? do you have a before and after photo? What did they charge?

Bronco is looking great!

Hubcaps.com... Hey had some minor dents and dings prior but were in pretty good shape. I have some pics on my other computer. Cost was $90 a cap.

Still waiting on the Roadster to come back from paint.

So continued on Bronco storage solutions.

Ceiling modified for roadster window. I attempted the drywall finish process (mud) myself and failed miserably.

Actually was told to stop by my wife and pay someone to do it. Drywall replacement labor to come soon and make
My drywall mudding mess look pretty. At least they can ride the lift up and work off it.

New jackscrew garage opener is installed and tracks raised to the ceiling. New opener is cool. Very little and super quiet. Love it.

Lift installed and is great. Roadster will sit up top and the windshield will recess in the 4' x 8' vault in the ceiling. Allowing me to park any of my other broncos under it.

Also lift is sweet for working on the rigs. I raised it up with the glass bronco and I can walk under and see and work on everything from underneath. Sweet .

Just need to run some permanent electrical, move the lift forward a bit and arrange my garage. adjust the cables after a week or so. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365904511.773199.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365904533.672264.jpg
