Hey Hammer I have a question.I have the same lift 5 1/2'',ZF,205.I had my stock front drive shaft cut down and it wont even bolt up with weight on the front end.I read that you used a 78 shaft, did that get you more angle or did you have to get a special cv?
Thanks Ben

I'm not sure why you would of cut down a front shaft. Your front shaft needs to get longer. Your new drivetrain is longer (zf/205) and you have a lift adding more length. a stock front shaft is 23.5"'s and yours should need to be in the 28.5" range.

I used a stock shaft from a '78 bronco. It was the right length at 28.5". the cv's are the same style as Early broncos, just depends on what size u-joint is on the transfer case end. Some guys say you can get a 78 shaft with all 1310's in it. I wasn't that lucky. Mine is a 1310 on the d44 end and a 1330 at the tcase. So i just got a 1330 front yoke for my np205 and bolted it up after replacing joints and balancing

Very impressive. Awesome job. Gotta get some PRP seats in there. Love the color. I wish I had the money, time and patience for a build like that.

your right I shortened the rear and lengthend the front. both were about 29 inches.I have a 5.5" lift and I used the 1310 ujoints.Mine wont even bolt up with weight on it not to mention when the wheels are off the ground.Maybe you turned your front pinion up high?I dont know.

nope didn't do anything with the front pinion. If you have a 29" front shaft then I'm not sure where your problem is.

Thanks very much. I think the patience is the only thing on your list that I do have. I drive a $500 f150 as a daily so i figure I dumped a $500 car payment into the bronco for 4.5 years.

So I've been driving it for 2 weeks now. Working out all the small glitches. Like forgetting to actually tighten up the four front shock upper mounts. Noticed it today after 3 shocks rattled off the shock hoops. Handles way better now and that vibration at high rpm's is gone%) What a retard I am.

Having trouble with my ps hose. Used the AN fittings from the tech article for the explorer swap. Blown it out of the bottom fitting twice now. Gotta come up with something else.

Started the body work on the tailgate today. Hopefully get some paint on it tomorrow.

Got a short Laundry list of stuff to do before Friday then taking it up to Kelowna for our company golf tournament. Bronco, sun and 5 days of golf:cool:

Took some up to date photos;

Been having a blast at the tail end of summer here. A couple of camping trips, a few golf excursions. Got the tailgate painted and done. Going to start redoing the swing away on the rear bumper. Didn't work to well with the 38 on there. Going to redo it and make a spot for a jerry can.

Took it out to an all ford show n shine today. Came home with some hardware!;D

I completely missed out on this bronco. Really like the color and everything you've done to it. Is your roll cage custom or from one of our bronco vendor?

Thanks very much. Cage is custom, kinda. I bought it used but had to cut it apart to stretch it forward and lower it in the front. Not sure what it was to start off with.

I've got the tailgate painted and installed, turned out good. Just need to track down a license plate light and get all the rubber in place. Also redid my rear swing out bumper. My first design wasn't quite beefy enough to support that 38" tire back there. I'll post some picks later, was to dark right now and i'm not smat enough to figure out how to turn the flash on.

Next up I gotta pickup a speedo cable and get that working and i need to build some backs for those rear seats.

Hammer,

Just went through the build on here and awesome job! Truck look GRRRRREAT. That color reminds me of my VW GTI. Very similar color and always looked great. Glad that you finally got it on the road.

We both got ours back on the road in July of this year but mine isn't finished like yours. Looks really nice and you have alot to be proud of for sure and you don't have to get that lowered Honda after all. ;)

Enjoy the ride! You deserve it for a job well done for sure. Also, that back seat looks like a practical perfect match to the front seats from the Ranger.

Okay will do. I signed up on funinbc.com for that reason but haven't seen much in terms of trips I'd participate on. I'd liek to get out and do some exploration trips, maybe do the whipsaw next year after the snow melts.

Well my insurance on the rig expired today and the weather was great so did a quick trip up Sumas mountain with the wife and kids. First time I'd been off road in 'er. It was fun but somehow i mangaged to loose the rod in my twin stick linkage for the front axle. So no 4 wheel drive:( But we had fun none the less.

I finally installed my speedo cable. I was able to use the stock one even witht he extra length of the zf. I did have to run it in the drain tube for the cold air duct and out the flip up door. Not ideal but it will do until i spring for an extended cable.

Also installed the f-series rad overflow. Works great.

Finished/re-worked my rear swing out tire carrier. More beefy and able to hold that 38" back there.

Was good the finally get some dirt on her and hit a couple puddles:cool:

Picked up this duff's torque tamer new in the box off craigslist for $100. I decided to modify the crossmember as my 2 into 1 exhaust was in the way. Also attached a pic of my re-worked swing out tire carrier. Still need to chuck some paint on it.

Just looked over your entire thread like you said to. I agree on the way you did the front sheet metal. Great idea, think that is the way I will do mine.

Funny thing... My Bronco is going to be just about that same color on top just at and above the body line. (Eleanor mustang grey). And at the bottom of the body line it is, if I remember right 06 f350 dark blue metalic. Light silver for the center of the grill and the roll cage.

Only thing I can say is I would love to see the 66 front turn signal lenses on your EB. But she sure is sharp.
