Hey Hammer I have a question.I have the same lift 5 1/2'',ZF,205.I had my stock front drive shaft cut down and it wont even bolt up with weight on the front end.I read that you used a 78 shaft, did that get you more angle or did you have to get a special cv?
Thanks Ben
I'm not sure why you would of cut down a front shaft. Your front shaft needs to get longer. Your new drivetrain is longer (zf/205) and you have a lift adding more length. a stock front shaft is 23.5"'s and yours should need to be in the 28.5" range.
I used a stock shaft from a '78 bronco. It was the right length at 28.5". the cv's are the same style as Early broncos, just depends on what size u-joint is on the transfer case end. Some guys say you can get a 78 shaft with all 1310's in it. I wasn't that lucky. Mine is a 1310 on the d44 end and a 1330 at the tcase. So i just got a 1330 front yoke for my np205 and bolted it up after replacing joints and balancing
