I can do the China units too. They end up being about $55 to $60 delivered to most places. I can drop ship them from a lot of different warehouses. There is crap China and then not too bad China. My units will definitely last longer and crank harder. But then again they are twice as much money.
After that there is the real Denso units which are the best in the world, but then they are twice as much again. Quite the up sell going from $55 to $210. Personally I would do the Denso, but my vehicle always has to start, if it didnt it would be like one tow truck company towing another tow truck company.
We have been using the off shore units for stock replacements for some of our Fleet customers. They were warned up front they were offshore and to date have been very happy durablity. (Half life of mine, but in some cases the fleets are destroying by abuse, so they are wrecking cheap starters instead of good ones) I would avoid them if you do a lot of trails, have headers, over 10 to 1 compresion, etc. If you are just stock, they should suit you well and do a lot better than the older direct drive starters.
